Meet The Team
Dr. Simon Turbide - Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Simon Turbide is a French Canadian Anatomist, Chiropractor, and board eligible Functional Neurologist. He has 20 years of private practice experience all over the world; including work with children and those with learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental abnormalities and many other neurological deficits.
With his extensive experience, Dr. Simon’s aim is to identify the real cause of the problem or ailment in order to restore, more effectively, the function of the nervous or any other physiological system at fault, using sensory and motor stimulation, chiropractic spinal manipulation, exercises and dietary recommendations.
Dr. Alicia Dender - Doctor of Chiropractic
A bubbly, warm-hearted and genuine Chiropractor, Dr Alicia has always been interested in health, helping people and being hands on; this is what led her to follow a flourishing career in Chiropractic. Graduating with distinction in a chiropractic double degree from Murdoch University in 2011,
Dr Alicia has a keen interest in pregnancy and paediatrics and is dedicated to creating healthier future generations and strives to lead families to better health. With the amazing intricacies of the human body, Dr Alicia views each person’s body as a unique puzzle and enjoys solving the many complexities and pieces of the puzzle; finding what else she can do to create optimal function in each person she sees. Dr Alicia is experienced in Diversified adjusting technique, Drop Piece, Activator, Mechanical Blocking, Cranial and Fascial work, and attends multiple seminars each year, to further help people in achieving their health goals.
Dr. Ellana Fico - Doctor of Chiropractic
Becoming a Chiropractor was a natural choice for Dr Ellana as she followed in her father’s footsteps into the profession. Graduating with a distinction average from Murdoch University (Western Australia), she has always had an interest in health and human biology. Chiropractic is so much more than a one dimensional treatment to Dr Ellana, who prides herself on creating an individualised, holistic treatment plan for patients.
Dr Ellana has seen the benefits of chiropractic for the whole family, young and old. Her caring, bubbly nature allows her to connect with all ages. Dr Ellana has an appetite for learning, and loves to keep abreast of the latest developments in Chiropractic treatment. She has a variety of treatment modalities that she uses such as Diversified, Drop Piece, Activator, Mechanical Blocking and Sacro Occipital Technique. She also enjoys working extensively on the muscular system and utilising the Active Release Techniques, Dry Needling and functional Kinesiotaping.
Leigh Elliott-Davies - Senior Physiotherapist
Leigh graduated from Cardiff School of Physiotherapy, University of Wales in 1987 with a Graduate Diploma of Physiotherapy.
As a Junior Physiotherapist, she gained a wide range of experience within the hospital setting covering surgical/medical wards, intensive care, neurological, cardiac and orthopaedic rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal outpatients to name a few. She was a volunteer Physio for an American football team and worked alongside Private Physios in her spare time to improve her knowledge base. She travelled and worked in Australia during 1990/1991 working in Sydney’s Prince Henry Hospital and The Prince of Wales hospital covering neurological rehabilitation.
As a Senior Physiotherapist, she specialised in Muscular skeletal and sports therapy, orthopaedic rehabilitation and neurological rehabilitation. She worked closely with a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialized in foot and ankle surgery. Striving to improve outcomes for his clients she developed post-operative protocols to ensure they received the necessary Physiotherapy techniques to enhance the best possible outcome. She supported more junior staff through organised continual professional development training and structured clinical reasoning sessions. She was a clinical educator and enjoyed training students.
Since moving to Australia in 2006 she has continued her passion for muscular skeletal therapy and developed her skills in aged care. She participated in an inter professional education program for students within the aged care setting.
Leigh is passionate about promoting health and wellbeing through a range of Physiotherapeutic techniques and strategies. She has skills to treat: neck/back pain, soft tissue injury’s and joint pains in the shoulders/elbow/wrist/hands/ hip/knee ankle and foot, sports injury’s and post-operative rehabilitation, pain management and dry needling, falls risk assessments, exercise programs to address muscle imbalance problems and improve flexibility, strength and balance. Leigh aims to diagnose the root cause of the problem, addressing the underlying issues to achieve the best possible outcome and supplying the clients with a home management plan is key in retaining optimal health.
Tracie Tennent - Remedial Massage Therapist
Tracie has always been passionate about the health of others. With over 30 years experience in the fitness and personal training industry, Tracie is very familiar with the musculoskeletal system and the benefits that soft tissue therapy has on the body. Tracie offers a wide variety of massage techniques including Remedial, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Sports, Lymphatic and since September 2017 is accredited to include dry needling.
Marietta Mandl - Remedial Massage Therapist
Marietta is our newest member of the team joining our ranks as a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist. Born in The Netherlands and a keen reader and traveller, Marietta has always been passionate about the health of others. She loves working with people of all ages from children to the elderly, to help them live a happier, healthier life and to support them to be their best versions.
Her Diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy made her proficient in a wide range of beneficial remedial techniques including; Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Sports, Direct and Indirect Myofascial Release, Soft Tissue Release, PNF Stretching, Pregnancy Massage, and Baby and Children Massage. Her keen interest in learning new skills has given her an adept understanding of massage techniques and anatomy.
Lynda Genovsei - Remedial Massage Therapist
Lynda has accomplished a Diploma in Remedial Massage at the Central Institute of Technology and is qualified in Hot Stone Therapy. She offers her clients a firm healing hand with her massage, to help unwind and sooth sore and tired muscles. Lynda uses a combination of deep tissue and sports massage. These firm techniques are used to release muscle tension and stiffness within the muscle fibres, to encourage the bodies natural healing process. Combined with correct nutrition and supplements the body is designed to heal itself; feed it well and you can recover sooner.
Being a qualified Naturopath, Lynda loves being able to share her knowledge and skills with her clients, with the aim of improving their overall health and well-being.
Tash Bradley - Clinical Nutritionist
Tash holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional Medicine, which has trained her to consider how nutrition affects our overall health and well being. A consult with Tash involves discussing your health concerns and nutritional intake, upon which she will work with you to provide dietary advice and/or prescribe nutritional supplementation to help your body restore itself to balance. Tash additionally works closely with the CrossFit community (being an avid CrossFit athlete and coach herself) to support athletes from a nutritional perspective on their fitness journey, whether they are a weekend warrior or an elite level competitor. We are incredibly excited to expand our services in welcoming Tash to our team as Beechboro Chiropractic’s very first Nutritionist.
