Bellarine Chinese Medicine - Chinese Medicine
Focus areas
Classical Chinese Medicine is a relationship-based clinical system that provides a holistic alternative for the healthcare requirements of our time, and highlights a return to the time-honoured values of living in harmony with nature and the essence of being human. It is a unique understanding and perspective of how the body functions when it is harmonious and healthy or in a state of disharmony, is grounded in the observation and understanding of nature, and its reflection in us.
Classical Chinese Medicine is slightly different from the recognised Traditional Chinese Medicine, in that its treatment methods are derived directly from the Classical Medical Literature of the Hand Dynasty, with a methodology of diagnosis and pulse taking which has been passed down from teacher to students as unbroken lineage. Though existing for over 2000 years, this system’s usefulness in treating disease and illness in our modern world, continues to be relevant, astute and effective.
Treatments that utilise Classical Chinese Medicine allows for a specific and personalised treatment of all clients, whereby the practitioner customises each treatment to meet an individual’s needs, utilising as appropriate and necessary: cupping, acupuncture, gua sha, massage and classical herbal formulas, along with lifestyle and dietary advice to allow clients to heal and to sustain wellbeing.
