About Us

Our Goal

Our goal as a Pilates Studio is to provide the best quality Pilates in the whole of Australia. We are continually investing in the highest quality Pilates equipment available (imported from the US) but without our registered Pilates instructors we would fall short of this goal. Our instructors bring a wealth of experience to their work and a passion that makes classes the highlight of the week for many of our clients.

Our Team

Adriana Carioni
Pilates Instructor and Physical Educator

I am passionate about Pilates. It is wonderful to see how Pilates can change and improve people’s health.

I graduated in Physical Education from FEFISA University Brazil, and post-graduate studies in Physical Education from FMU University. After many wonderful years being a Teacher, I decided to change my path and became specialised in Pilates studying at the CGPA Institute.

I always knew that I would be a physical educator because of my eternal love of sports. At a young age, I was very active and represented my school in various games and competitions.

After my first degree I became a swimming coach for junior athletes, developed social and educational projects in the techniques of sports and also had the opportunity to manage sporting events.

My main goal is to provide people with a better quality of life by improving their self-esteem and enabling a change of habit in relation to the body through the practice of Pilates.

Susan Stone
Pilates instructor

In my twenties I sustained a serious back injury which I thought I had recovered from with no ill effects. It wasn’t until later in life I began to feel the impact of that injury and the limitations it was placing on my body and lifestyle. After committing to Pilates regularly I found that gradually I could do all the things I wanted- gym, hiking, yoga, skiing. I became aware and in tune with my body, accepted its limitations but was able to work with it and gain strength, mobility and stability.

Pilates is tailored specifically to meet individual clients needs. It can be done with any physical limitation or at any age. Pilates is something I never intend to stop, it makes complete sense and it is exciting watching clients health and lifestyle improve with regular practice.

I come from a background in nursing so the science behind Pilates particularly appealed to me. I completed my Diploma of Professional Pilates instruction through Pilates ITC and I am a member of Pilates Alliance Australasia.

Debbie Allen
Pilates instructor

As a child I was not a lover of sports; I would far rather be curled up in a chair reading a book. It was only when I reached my late twenties that I discovered how good exercise can make you feel and after having children, I started to exercise in earnest. Gym sessions, personal training, outrigger canoeing and then running. It was only after I ran a marathon that I realised how unbalanced my body was and how compressed and stiff my back always felt. Then I discovered Pilates and within a couple of sessions I had a Eureka Moment! I LOVE PILATES and I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that it is something I will practice and teach for the rest of my life.

Pilates makes sense. Pilates is for every body and every age – it enables you to feel strong and capable, no matter what your physical condition. Pilates is all about movement, but it’s a holistic approach that is as much about the mind as it is about the body – it energises and focuses you by connecting your mind and your body as you are guided through a series of precise movements. Joseph Pilates explained that the practice of Pilates “develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong posture, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit”. It does.

I did my original training through The Balanced Body University and completed my Diploma in Professional Pilates Instruction through Pilates ITC and the Pilates Alliance.

Lisia Fonseca
Pilates Instructor and Physical Educator

Lisia has been teaching Pilates since 2007. She holds a Degree in Physical Education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil.

Lisia is a level 1 Member with the Pilates Alliance Australasia. She also holds a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction from the Pilates International Training Center, and a Certificate in Matwork Instruction from the Physical Mind Institute of New York.

Lisia is a perfectionist, and this is reflected in her energetic teaching style. She works with her clients to achieve quality movement (over quantity) and build a high-level of body awareness. A motivated, hands-on approach and clear verbal cues ensure you get the very best out of each class.

Tais Soares Pinto
Pilates Instructor and Physical Educator

My love for movements of the body was instilled in me since I was a child. I was always interested and active in all aspects of sport.

Pilates entered my life in 2006. After doing some classes I fell in love with it and have never stopped.

I immersed myself in the training and decided to change my career as a practicing Lawyer of 10 years to follow my passion of improving body awareness for myself and others.

I have a bachelors degree in Physical Education in Brazil and a specialize in Pilates since 2012 from Power Pilates, NY.

My goal is to help improve other people lives with the fundamentals that Pilates has to offer.

Pilates Classes

Getting started

You will need to book in for an initial consult which takes an hour. You will be assessed by a qualified instructor to determine your range of movement and any injuries or medical conditions you may have. To get the most out of Pilates you need to focus on the quality of your movement. Pilates is about developing a complete, balanced physique that encompasses not only strength and flexibility but also ease of movement, balance and control. Once you start your Pilates practice you will start to to embody all these qualities in your movements in and out of class. With this in mind is very important to get an initial consult so we can work towards this with you. Even if you hae done Pilates before you will need to assessed by us to make sure you will get the most out of your Pilates.

All Pilates Classes including the Initial Consultation last one hour.

Private Class

This is one to one with the instructor if you are new to Pilates or have a rehabilitation issue, or need time to learn the basics of Pilates then this is the best choice for you.

Split Class or Semi Private Class

This is one instructor to 2 people. Once you are more confidant with your Pilates practice or if you have done Mat work before this may be the choice for you. You need to have a understanding of the basics to move forward into a split class

Group Class

There is 3 or 4 people to one instructor and is generally a mix of Mat work, small apparatus and large Equipment work. These are ideally suited to people who have had 10 to 20 Private or Split classes or for those who have had a reasonable amount of Pilates practice.
