Services Offered

Myotherapy

Myotherapy is the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. Myotherapists use extensive evidence-based treatment techniques including massage dry needling, manual therapy and functional release cupping.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a modality that uses gentle techniques and focuses on the free motion and alignment of the body framework and utilises the important link between the body structure and its function.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage Therapy aims to restore connective tissues, increase blood flow and help heal injuries by reducing tension in the muscles and tendons.

Dry Needling

This process involves an acupuncture needle inserted into the trigger point within the muscles to treat muscular dysfunction and injuries, with the aim of permanently reducing pain and discomfort and restoring the imbalances caused by muscle tightness and restriction.

Pregnancy Massage

Manual therapy treatments during pregnancy can help reduce and relieve muscle aches and joint pains from an expecting mum’s rapidly changing body. These treatments include pregnancy massage, myotherapy and osteopathy.

Functional Release Cupping

This dynamic approach combines traditional cupping methods, modern training and functional movements to help restore mobility and function of fascia and the muscle chain.

Baby Osteopathy

This subtle, gentle and non-invasive therapy helps remove tension in the muscle tissues that may be causing pain and discomfort in babies. Common concerns include:

  • Flat head, difficulty turning head
  • Constipation
  • Reflux and colic
  • Feeding issues
  • Irritability and unsettledness

FAQs

What to expect on my first consultation?

Your therapist will ask about your problem and symptoms, health history, medications you’re taking, and other factors that may be related to your problem.

Next, your therapist will conduct several exams, these may include diagnostic, orthopaedic, clinical, neurological tests, postural assessments, activities and exercises that will determine how best to manage your condition.

It’s also important to bring along any recent X-rays, scans, reports or test results you may have on your first consultation.

Osteopathy and myotherapy practitioners may look at other parts of your body that may be connected to the area of concern.

Your therapist will also provide education and advice to help you manage your condition between appointments.

Is treatment painful?

Both osteopathy and myotherapy are hands-on treatment therapies that may include massage, stretching, repetitive movements, mobilisation and/or manipulation.

Treatments are gentle and should not cause unnecessary  discomfort.

If your injuries require hands-on treatment of painful and tender areas, your therapist will exercise utmost care to make you as comfortable as possible.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

Osteopaths and myotherapists are primary care practitioners, you may schedule an appointment without a referral.

However, if you’ve been diagnosed with a chronic condition and would require complex care you may be eligible for Chronic Disease Management assistance.

Your GP must complete a special referral form to refer you to an osteopath for treatment. Note that CDM is not valid for myotherapy referrals.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, loose clothing. Shorts will be provided if needed.

How long will my treatment take?

Initial consultation for myotherapy and remedial massage may take 60 minutes.

For osteopathic treatments, initial consultation may last 40 to 60 minutes.

Book your treatment online or call for any questions or concerns.
