Yoga

Yoga comes in many forms. Yoga itself is a Sanskrit word for joining / yoking / bringing together. For us ‘mere mortals’ in our every day busy lives; this joining is a practice of bringing the busy mind into this present moment, or letting the heart be open to all that is arising in our lives. The movements, asanas, meditation, relaxation and philosophies that Kate will teach, will assist in the practice of retraining the mind to stay focussed and content with all that is.

Kate Pell

Kate Pell began the long fruitful journey of Yoga practice in India in 1989. She trained with a student of BKS Iyengar in Trivanduram, for two weeks and felt so remarkably changed by the experience that she continued her own practice on returning home from her travels, along with classes with Joy Spencer, Ri Fraser and Frank Jesse.

Kate completed her studies in Sivananda and Kundalini Yoga in 1996 with Joy Spencer in Melbourne and studied with Peter Scott, her Iyengar Teacher Trainer at Noosa Yoga Centre from 2002 to 2005.

She has complimented her Asana studies via a great interest in Kashmir Shiavism; studying a Siddha Yoga correspondence course from 1995 to 2000. Since 1996 Kate has practiced Vipassana meditation and more recently has supported Subhana Barzaghi, by teaching the Yoga component on her insight meditation retreats in Byron.

Kate began teaching Yoga in 1998 to the public and in 2000 taught Yoga as her full time career. After moving to Brisbane, from Melbourne in 2002, Kate set up her own very successful studios; West End Yoga Studio and The Yoga Den in Annerley and West End.

Kate regularly hosted many teachers that inspired her most, including Clive Sheridan, Simon Borg-Olivier and Sue Scott. She has also hosted, Peter Scott, Neeta Datta, Alan Goode, Pixie Lillas, Shandor Remete and Donna Farhi. Kate completed a 150 hour training course with Donna Farhi in 2010 and has also studied Yoga Therapeutic with Judith Lasater. She continues to attend studies with Peter Scott her main Iyengar yoga teacher, when time provides. Kate is a level 3 Senior Teacher with the Yoga Australia. She teaches from the inner happiness that springs from within. Her joy for teaching and assisting others brings great inspiration and a deep love for life itself. Kate’s joyful art of teaching can bring lightness into the dullest of days and assist you to find new ways of seeing just how brilliant and perfect you are, as you are.
