Appointments

Ann-Maree Bortoli Naturopath and Herbalist

First consultations typically take 1-1.5 hours or a little longer. Ann-Maree will ask you to complete a form and she will ask you a comprehensive range of questions aimed at finding out about you and how best to help you attain better health and minimize preventable disease. Ann-Maree will develop a treatment plan for you and with you. This plan may include diet and lifestyle changes and may also include herbal medicines, vitamins and minerals.

Initially Ann-Maree may need to see you on a regular basis to monitor your health and she may need to change your medicines. Repeat consultations typically last for approximately 30 minutes.

Additional time is needed for Ann-Maree to dispense your medicines and to explain how to take them.

Julia Byford Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Julia meets with clients for an initial session. During this session clients are able to experience what therapy can be like and Julia has the opportunity to find out more about her client(s) and all parties can ascertain what it would be like to work together.

The first appointment is usually one and half hours and provides an opportunity for clients to clarify what they hope to gain from counselling, to ask questions of Julia, and for Julia to make a thorough assessment, explain how she works and what she can offer. If Julia and her client(s) decide to go ahead and work together, they make an agreement on issues such as method of working, duration of therapy, fees and confidentiality. Occasionally when Julia and her client(s) agree that the clients needs may be met better elsewhere, Julia can help find an appropriate counsellor.

Regular appointments are usually weekly and last for an hour. Therapy may be open-ended or time-limited according to individual need. Changes can be made following review at any time subsequently, with the clients agreement. Typically 6-12 sessions are usual for counselling. For psychotherapy it is open-ended and can continue longer, up to a year or more according to individual needs.
