Brain Gym
The brain is the chief commanding centre of the body, so its optimal functioning determines our bodys performance and our approach to life.
A Brain Gym balance enables you to move from a stuck place to a state of ease and flow. At any age anyone can come to an impasse. This happens when stress, anxiety or injury interferes with our day to day functioning.
Simple and fun Brain Gym activities have been shown to unblock old patterns and open up new neural pathways in the brain, setting you up for success.
During a balance, we work together towards your goal be it academic, emotional or physical. To support your new state of enhanced performance, you leave the session with tools to use at home for lasting results.
More About Brain Gym - Babies are born with many automatic, physical, involuntary responses called primitive reflexes that have begun developing in utero. They are primarily concerned with survival in those first early months of life. They assist in stimulating the balance and visual systems, developing muscle tone and preparing the child for advanced movement patterns and learning. They are an essential part of the developmental stages of the central nervous system.
If primitive reflexes are not integrated in sequence, they disturb the development of subsequent postural reflexes. This can present as learning and performance blocks.
Brain Gym movements simulate many of these developmental movements that babies and young children naturally perform, and improve the processing of sensory information. This gives the body a second chance at integrating reflex movement patterns thus enhancing ones ability to perform with greater ease and confidence.
What is learning?
Learning is something we do every day, throughout our lives, in many varied situations. For example:
- Formal education. Learning problems, HSC preparation, from preschool to university and anything in between.
- Life skills. Any situation which may be stressful or for which you may want to prepare.
- Interpersonal relationships.
