Servicing area

Coffs Harbour, New South Wales

Established in 1990, Karen and Bruno devoted themselves to integrating Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture with the more mainstream western care most people receive.

Over the years, the clinic has built an impeccable reputation and relationship with the local medical community, working with them to provide the best service for each of their clients.

They believe in the importance of regular preventative health care, which is the goal of Traditional Chinese Medicine: maintain health at its optimum level and address any imbalances that may occur.

How is traditional Chinese medicine different from Western medicine?

Western medicine targets diseases within the human body or a specific outside pathogen.

Medical doctors use diagnostic tools to control symptoms and cure the condition. In which they use three principal components of treatment including pharmaceuticals, surgery and therapy.

Traditional Chinese medicine looks at multiple factors that may have caused the symptoms including lifestyle, psyche, environmental stress, trauma or other external pathogens.

TCM utilises a holistic approach to medicine and doesn’t find one exact cause for illness; instead, it acknowledges that there are several factors that contribute to health issues in the physical body.

Five major components of treatment within traditional Chinese medicine include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, tui na (similar to massage), Tai Ji/Qi Gong (movement and stretching exercises) and nutrition.

One type of medicine is not better than the other. Western medicine is the primary form of medicine in Australia, TCM is a complementary form of treatment to Western medicine.

How does acupuncture work?

Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles, the width of two human hairs into specific anatomical points.

These acupuncture points are strategic conductors of electromagnetic signals throughout the body. They stimulate the release of endorphins in the central nervous system.

And influence the neurotransmitter rates and reset the polarity of different parts of the body.

What happens during treatment?

On your first visit, your therapist will take your detailed health history, examine your chief complaint and create an individualised treatment plan considering your present physical, emotional, and nutritional condition, while focusing on your primary health concern.

This may take up to an hour and a half. Return visits may include the option of Chinese herbal therapy.

Often, acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapy are used together to strengthen the effects of treatment and achieve long-term results in a short time.

Qi Beauty Facial

The Qi beauty Facial Treatments uses Static Magnetic Stimulation Techniques.

Micro magnets stimulate the surface of your skin and natural subdermal fluids fill lines and wrinkles.

On your first visit, they will assess your skin before designing a personalised face matrix.

They will integrate the techniques to carry Qi into the lines, over pigmentation and into areas that need volume and lift.

Ionic gels, serums and nutrients will be applied in sequence to achieve a luxurious facial with lasting results.
