Deborah is qualified in soft tissue and remedial body therapies and has been practicing for 19 years, working in the beautiful Yarra Valley. Her practice includes Biodynamic Craniosacral, Bowen and Emmett technique. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a powerful yet gentle technique which effortlessly connects us to our body's innate intelligence and natural ability to heal. The body’s own wisdom guides each session which makes it suitable for all ages, from newborn to the elderly.Similarly, Bowen & Emmett Techniques are both gentle and relaxing remedial therapies which activate the body’s own healing process. They each work by releasing tension within muscle groups and the fascia. Without the use of manipulation, gentle touch triggers subtle signals for the body to initiate its own changes, thus allowing it to rebalance naturally.

About

Each treatment is tailored specifically to the individual needs of the client, often using a combination of the above therapies all of which assist with gentle muscle relaxation, easing sore muscles, pain reduction and improving the body’s flexibility and comfort.

Bowen & Emmett Techniques are both gentle, relaxing and holistic remedial body therapies which activate the body’s own healing process. They are holistic treatments which take into account the whole person, and focusing on treating the cause of the problems rather than the symptoms.

They both work on releasing tension with muscle groups by small the soft connective tissue (fascia). They do not use forceful manipulation and are safe for anyone to experience, from new born babies to the elderly.

The Emmett Technique incorporates a gentle physical release of muscle groups by stimulating activation points. Emmett Technique is a treatment which complements other therapies and is able be done with the client fully clothed.

Bowen Technique consists of cross fibre muscle, tendon or ligament release moves of varying pressure and at specific sites on the body.

Both therapies allow the body to reset itself to its natural state of balance and alignment. And both therapies can be used to treat musculoskeletal conditions including sports injuries.

Craniosacral Therapy

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle, light touch therapy that works with the whole body and can assist the body’s natural capacity for self-repair.

The craniosacral session can help you connect with your natural wisdom within to facilitate changes and moving towards improved health.

Many conditions have their origins in physical and emotional trauma ,( e.g. birth issues, Illnesses, accidents and psychological stress, BCST can work well with these traumas by allowing a safe resolution of shock and held experiences.

BCST is working and listening to the subtle natural rhythm of our body’s nervous system, soft tissue, bone and fluids which can allow your body to make these positive changes.

Treatment is usually done lying on a table fully clothed while the therapist listens and feels with their hands. Some things that might be felt are tension, contraction and distortion in the tissue.

During a session you might notice some tingling, warmth or gentle movements as the body responds to the gentle touch. Often the client becomes deeply relaxed during a session.

People may also experience other changes in themselves such as emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.

The sessions can have deep and lasting transformations as the body will always orientate towards health.

Craniosacral Therapy is an effective, natural and non-invasive treatment that can help us return to a more relaxed and comfortable space with a greater ease of movement in our bodies.

BCST is gentle enough from babies through to the elderly.

During pregnancy it can help a your body adjust to the changes created by pregnancy. Treating mothers and babies postnatally can help from some stresses of childbirth, compressions and restrictions experienced during the birth process may lead to some common infant problems such as colic, excessive crying, feeding and sleeping issues. Mother and baby can be treated in the same session.
