Derwent Valley Massage Centre is passionate about what they do.

Their comprehensive knowledge of the needs of patients allows them to provide tailored in-clinic or home care services.

With a team of knowledgeable and dedicated professionals in New Norfolk, TAS, the clinic ensures you're well taken care of.

Services Offered

Relaxation Massage

Relaxation massages use long strokes, gentle rolling and kneading of skin and muscles, and some rhythmic rocking to relax the muscles.

Almost all massage treatments provide relaxation, but a relaxation massage targets relaxation exclusively.

Because of this, it is one of the most complete and luxurious forms of massage.

The best massage if you simply want to pamper yourself and enjoy a relaxing moment.

Remedial Massage

This type of massage diagnoses and treats muscle knots and other musculoskeletal conditions caused by myofascial trigger points.

In contrast to Swedish and other relaxation bodywork, remedial massage uses multiple therapies to address the underlying causes of pain while providing relaxation therapy for tired, stressed bodies.

The key to solving muscle pain is to locate its underlying causes.

Treatment begins with an assessment that may include:

  • Posture assessment
  • Biomechanical exam
  • Range of motion evaluation
  • Neurological exam

By using these tests, the target problem area can be pinpointed and the underlying cause identified and treated.

Dry Needling

In physical therapy, dry needling is a technique used to treat pain and muscle dysfunction.

Dry needling uses a thin filiform needle to stimulate muscles, joints, and soft tissues directly beneath the skin.

By using the needle, therapists can target tissues that are hard to reach manually.

As a result of dry needling, pain is controlled, muscle tension is reduced, and range of motion is increased.
