Reflexology

Reflexology is a remedial therapy and a passion of mine. It has been used throughout the centuries, but only resurfaced to the western world in the mid 1900's. Very popular in Europe and the UK, and especially Denmark, where it is the most used alternative therapy in the country with one in four people receiving reflexology weekly.

Reflexology enables access to the whole body in a relatively non invasive and gentle way with great results. It can be used as a therapy in its own right or to enhance the effectiveness of other therapies. By stimulating reflex points, the body receives messages to awaken the natural healing process. It is a very relaxing and effective therapy. Fantastic for all ages and cultures.

Great for relaxation, headaches, IBS, Hormonal imbalances, sleeplessness, sinusitis, sciatica, during pregnancy, TMJ problems, mental health issues and much more.

Foot Reflexology is very popular. A treatment starts with relaxing techniques (to warm the feet and relax the client) and mobilisers (which help to free stiff joints). The rest of the session is generally much more detailed reflex point work that aims to stimulate points on the feet which allow the whole body to maintain a healthy state. Great received as a stand alone treatment or combined with massage or facial reflexology .more info www.reflexology.org.au

Facial Reflexology Is an amazing technique developed using Native Argentinian practice, Vietnamese facial maps and points, Chinese meridian work and Western reflexology by Lone Sorensen. It is highly regarded in Europe, the U.K., Vietnam and Argentina. Although quite new to Australia, this very relaxing technique, that stimulates points on the face to help the body heal, is becoming a favourite of many of my clients. It is terrific for all health issues, and especially good as the reflexes are so close to the brain, which passes on the reflex message to the body. Great as a treatment on it's own or combined with foot reflexology, therapeutic facial or massage.more info www.facialreflexology.com

Auricular Therapy is when the ears are used as a place to stimulate reflexes. The ears are stimulated and investigated for areas of congestion. If appropriate, "seeds" (tiny ball bearings on a clear mini circular band aid - resembling a stud) are applied to give longer lasting stimulus for post treatment. Great as an addition to all other reflexology treatments and massage.

Hand Reflexology uses the hands as a medium to work reflex points. As with the feet, relaxing techniques are used before more specific reflex points are worked. The hands are also a terrific area for clients to be shown "self help" techniques and thereby enhance their treatment at home. Sometimes we neglect our hands and only realize how much work they do when they are treated to some touch! Great in addition to other reflexology, massage or therapeutic facials.
