Born and raised in Hong Kong, a very busy, fast paced city, Sylvia moved to Australia in 2010. It was here that she made the life changing decision to learn how to improve her own hip and lower back problems that she experienced due to prolonged sitting postures at work and an extensive history of dancing. While learning to help herself, Sylvia realised she could have a positive impact on other people in pain through soft tissues therapy.
Sylvia completed a Cert IV and Diploma of Remedial Therapy in 2013 and worked alongside other therapists and health professionals, attending various workshops to further her knowledge. She also worked as part of the massage team at various sporting events including games for the Gold Coast Titans.
The knowledge and skills she obtained benefited her clients and herself tremendously, but she realised it was not a long-term fix. Sylvia undertook her Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy, from which she graduated in 2015.
Sylvia is passionate about her job - helping her clients get back to a pain free, active life as much as possible.
As a myotherapist, Sylvia works directly with the client. She is especially interested in the management of soft-tissue pain and dysfunction associated with chronic musculoskeletal conditions, in particular around the hip and back.
Outside of work, she enjoys pilates, yoga, badminton, cooking, reading, and enjoying fellowships with her brothers and sisters from the church and spend time with family.
