What is massage therapy and when is it used?
Massage therapy is possibly one of the oldest healing traditions in human history and has been practiced in some form and shape in every culture. Depending on the application and technique used, massage is used to promote relaxation and well-being, and is beneficial in treating sports injuries, and other problems affecting the musculature of the body such as postural misalignment and many painful conditions.
How is massage performed at the clinic?
At Essendon Natural Health, massage therapy is performed on a professional adjustable massage table that is designed for the comfort of the patient.
How long do the sessions go for?
We have two sessions, a one hour and a half hour session. The one hour session is more suitable for those wanting full rest, relaxation, or full body. The half hour session is suitable for those wanting a region specific massage such as neck and shoulders or lower back only.
What makes our massage therapist so special?
Our massage therapist, Irene Fitzpatrick, is a gifted practitioner with over a decade’s experience who combines her massages with aromatherapy and Reiki healings when applicable. Her treatment approach is holistic and takes time to address all aspects of mind body health. She is well regarded in the massage community by therapists and patients alike.
Are the massages hard or soft?
This is completely up to you. Our massage therapist will always ask you what level of pressure is enough for you to make sure that you have a comfortable experience.
