Customised Orthotic Thongs
Thongs are actually quite good for your feet – and this is no joke! Being incredibly proud Queenslanders we are especially excited to be able to offer our clients with this as a form of treatment. These thongs are tailored via Paromed 3D foot scanning and computer modelling.
Our feet are able to perform at their best when the joints are moving effectively at their full range of motion. Reduced joint flexibility or tightness surround soft tissues (tendons, muscles, ligaments) to work a lot harder which may lead to discomfort and pain.
Neuromuscular Dry Needling: Dry Needling is the method in which myofascial triggers are released with sterile, fine needles to stimulate the healing process of soft tissues. It is able to relieve pain that is caused by musculoskeletal issues by relaxing muscular trigger points, knots that develop within a muscle that occurs in chronic and acute pain.
Diabetic Foot Screening
A comprehensive assessment is undertaken to focus on the health of the diabetic foot. Education, client history, footwear, neurovascular status (including Doppler Ultrasound) and general podiatric treatment comprise a full assessment to understand “risk” levels.
My background as an active cyclist coupled with my clinical experience allows us to better understand and treat the range of lower limb issues a cyclist will frequently face.
A major issue is that an average cycling shoe is not equipped to accommodate your standard orthotic. I am able to however, provide you with an orthotic which will not only fit you well, but is light and strong enough to absorb the forces of tension brought about by the up and down stroke without any issues. Not only does the orthotics reduce fatigue and pain, they also improve power output and torque through the foot and the pedal.
