Focus areas

Stress Tension Pain relief Physical discomfort Chronic pain Muscle relaxation

Gary is an experienced Craniosacral Therapist who specialises in treatment plans for adults and children.

What is Craniosacral therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle, light-touch approach that releases tensions deep in the central nervous system.

Your therapist will help you release repressed tensions and anxieties to alleviate pain, stress, and discomfort naturally.

What happens in your first craniosacral therapy session?

Your therapist will ask you questions about your condition and the main reason for your visit.

In a typical craniosacral treatment, you will be asked to lie or sit on a treatment couch fully clothed. The therapist will lightly touch your body with their hands.

You will experience deep relaxation during the session, which usually lasts until the end of the session.

Oftentimes, this tension release carries over into everyday life.

Sometimes, the benefits aren't obvious right away but become apparent after returning to familiar surroundings.

How many sessions are recommended?

Craniosacral therapy may require more than one or two sessions for maximum benefit.

Your therapist and you will discuss how many sessions are right for you.

Craniosacral Therapy results can vary from individual to individual; some find it provides tangible benefits after three or five sessions, while others see ongoing benefits with regular sessions.

What are the benefits of craniosacral therapy?

Getting relief from neck, head, and back compression is a huge benefit of the therapy. With CST, any restrictions in the cranial region are released and mobility is restored.

Other benefits include:

  • Treatment and relief of chronic pain, TMJ dysfunction, seizure disorders, hormonal imbalances, and more
  • Increased function of the autonomic nervous system, allowing better response to stress
  • Enhanced immunity
  • Eliminates restrictions in tissues and bones
  • Released tension
  • Improved energy flow
  • Overall relaxation and revitalization

What conditions can CST help improve or treat?

  • Headaches and migraine pain
  • Sleep disturbances or insomnia
  • Neck and back pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Constipation
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Infant ear infections
  • Depression and anxiety disorders
  • Pregnancy difficulties

Who can benefit from craniosacral therapy?

Anyone, from infants to the elderly, can benefit from craniosacral therapy. There are, however, certain individuals who shouldn't use this, these include:

  • An individual with heavy bleeding disorders
  • Someone diagnosed with an aneurysm
  • Individuals who have recently suffered a traumatic head injury with bleeding in the brain or a fractured skull

Can craniosacral therapy be used along with other complementary therapies?

This therapy may be used alone or in conjunction with complementary approaches like acupuncture, homeopathy, yoga and counselling.
