Chiro Neuro Rehabilitation:

Your brain and associated nervous system is an incredibly amazing system. It is connected to every part of your body and controls everything including the function of your organs, your blood pressure and coordinates your immune response. It is responsible for your sleep-wake cycles, your emotional regulation and the normal function of your whole body. For those wanting to improve their health issues, there may be benefit from highly specific exercises combined with chiropractic care, preferably in co-management with your Dr or health specialist. Chiro Neuro Rehab utilises the science of neuroplasticity and its aim is to improve your function and your wellbeing. When Dr Robyn is invited to be part of your health care team she will (with your permission) write to your Medical Dr or your specialist to share her findings and her recommended treatment plan with them.

Dr Robyn is interested in neuroplasticity. Her study in chiropractic neuro rehabilitation, was directed by the Carrick Institute for graduate studies (USA). Dr Robyn is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (USA) (DACNB). Knowledge of the understanding of the plasticity of the nervous system may be useful in managing chronic conditions (such as some chronic pain conditions) in conjunction with other medical or health professionals. Dr Robyn has completed over 425 hours of face to face lectures through Carrick Institute for graduate studies - Neuroscience and Rehabilitation (USA). https://carrickinstitute.com/  
Lecture content included the following topics: Neuron Theory, Neuro - Muscular Applications, Reflexogenic Systems, Peripheral Nervous System, Spinal Cord, Autonomic Nervous System, Cerebellum and Vestibular assessment and rehabilitation, Basal Ganglia, Cranial Nerves, Vestibular System, Motor Systems, Sensory Systems, Pain, Neurological Diagnosis, Neurological Applications.
Dr Robyn successfully passed rigorous internationally coordinated written and practical exams and was awarded with Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB) USA. Dr Robyn meets the annual requirement of the ACNB (USA) to keep current with her study.
Dr Robyn has also done a vestibular rehab course, through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies (USA).
Understanding of the plasticity of the nervous system may be useful in managing some chronic conditions in conjunction with your medical doctor or specialist.

Dr Robyn advocates a patient centred approach, including tools to support your nervous system and improve postural control. Where it may be beneficial, meditation and mindfullness may be introduced.

We employ a natural approach that supports your health and may include:

  • Spinal care

  • Muscle release techniques

  • Balance exercises

  • Eye tracking and saccadic exercises

  • Sound therapy

  • Breathing and postural care (including postural reflex training)

  • Nutritional advice to support to reduce inflammation when appropriate and for nutritional support of the nervous system
