Ginkgo Longevity is a naturopathic clinic that uses a holistic approach to wellness based on the principle that the body has the inherent ability to heal itself. Using the healing power of nature and gentle therapeutic techniques, the body, mind and emotions are supported during the healing process.

What is naturopathy?

Naturopathy is based on six basic principles:

First Do No Harm
Utilize the most natural, least invasive and least toxic therapies.

The Healing Power of Nature
Trust in the body’s inherent wisdom to heal itself.

Identify and Treat the Causes
Identify and remove the underlying cause of illness, rather than eliminate or suppress symptoms

Heal the Whole Person
View the body as an integrated whole in all its physical, emotional, genetic, environmental, social and spiritual dimensions.

Doctor as Teacher
The naturopath educates patients in the steps to achieving and maintaining health.

Prevention
Focus on overall health, wellness and disease prevention.

  • Body signs including tongue and nail diagnosis
  • Bio-regulatory Matrix testing
  • Test kits to identify specific conditions
What type of conditions can be treated by naturopathy?
  • Digestive disturbances including constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, diverticulitis, Candida and other gastrointestinal infections
  • Stress management, sleep problems, anxiety and headache
  • Respiratory problems such as sinus, hayfever, asthma
  • Skin disorders including eczema, psoriasis, acne, dermatitis

  • Hormonal problems
  • Fatigue and lowered immunity
  • ADD/ADHD

  • Metabolic problems and weight control
  • Hypertension and cholesterol lowering

What types of therapies are used?

Nutritional Medicine

I adopt a healthy wholefood diet approach to provide the necessary vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients required to achieve optimal health. Supplements may be prescribed where dietary deficiencies are observed. Often simple dietary changes can assist the patient in resolving a range of health issues.

"The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition." Thomas Edison

Western Herbal Medicine

Offers a gentle way in assisting the body to heal itself and restore balance. Herbs may be taken as tablets, capsules and teas or specifically tailored to meet individual needs by combining liquid herbal extracts. Some herbs may interact with pharmaceutical drugs and can be harmful during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so it is essential that they are prescribed by a registered practitioner.

Homeopathic Medicine

Homoeopathic medicine can be of benefit at all ages and stages, including pregnant women and babies. It is based on the use of highly diluted doses of plant, mineral and chemical substances that stimulate the body’s own healing response.

Homotoxicology

This is a modern, sophisticated form of homeopathy. In homotoxicology, it is understood that diseases are caused by toxins. Homotoxicological products are designed to work with the body’s defense mechanism to assist in the elimination of toxins that contribute to disease.

Balancing the body’s pH

All metabolic processes occurring in the body, including immunity, depend on a delicately balanced pH. The body constantly fights to maintain blood, urine and saliva pH but can easily become unbalanced by our modern diet and lifestyle. Protecting the body from disease can be accomplished by getting the body back to normal pH levels.

Maintaining Wellness

Wellness Check-ups

Prevention is better than cure, so a regular check-up will ensure you stay fit and healthy. Follow up visits allow treatment to be monitored and altered to address any other health concerns.

Are you always feeling tired, stressed or unable to cope with what life throws at you each day?

A busy lifestyle, poor diet, stress and anxiety, lack of sleep, pharmaceutical drugs and environmental pollution, can all take its toll on your health and throw your body out of balance.

Would you like to feel like alive and energetic again?
Find out how you can re-balance your body by following an easy, ten point health care plan that will restore your health and increase your longevity.
Let me introduce you to my ten point plan:

Balance ''good '' and ‘‘bad’’ bacteria in your gastrointestinal tract, restore good digestion and improve the absorption of nutrients.
Have you been taking antibiotics?
Do you suffer from digestive discomfort such as abdominal pain, bloating or flatulence? Do you suffer from food intolerances or sensitivities?

Chances are you may have an imbalance of intestinal bacteria. Most of us have heard that probiotics are good for our gut but not all probiotics are the same. There are various species and strains that support the body in different ways. Let me help you gain the greatest benefit from carefully selected probiotics, as well as improving your gut health with dietary advice and suggestions to help improve how your body can get the most out of what you eat.

Balance your diet to provide all the essential nutrients.
Does you diet lack colour and flavour?
Do you eat lots of fast foods or pre-packaged meals?

Making good food choices is essential to good health but it doesn’t have to be a chore and you don’t have to be a Master Chef. Tasty meals can be prepared easily and quickly with a little bit of planning and know how. Let me help you experience what good food is all about and your body will thank you for eating well.

Balance your body’s pH.
Do you eat lots of meat and carbohydrates, drink a few lattes or cappuccinos each day, indulge in regular ''happy hours'' and avoid eating fruit and vegetables?
Then your body is probably struggling to maintain a correct acid-alkaline balance. Just like plants need the correct acid-base balance in the soil to thrive, your body also needs to have a balanced pH to avoid disease.
Making a few diet and lifestyle changes will put you back on the right track and not only will you begin to feel healthier but you may be preventing future diseases.

Balance your blood sugar levels.
Are you gaining a little extra weight around the waist, feeling worn out and finding it hard to concentrate in the afternoon without that coffee fix or sugary snack?
There is a current diabetes epidemic in Australia and many people are already suffering from pre-diabetes or diabetes without even knowing it. Diabetes is responsible for a host of health problems so becoming aware of the dangers of ''hidden sugars'' and learning how to follow a low-GL diet is important in reducing your chances of becoming another diabetes statistic.

Balance your hormones.
Are you always feeling tired but find it difficult to sleep?
Do you suffer from a drop in motivation and drive?
Do you crave certain foods?
Is your weight fluctuating?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, perhaps your hormones are out of balance. Hormones are chemical messengers that affect many processes in your body such as mood, sexual function and converting the foods you eat into energy. They are very powerful and it only takes small changes in hormone levels to cause big changes in cells or even your whole body. Learn how to balance hormones with diet and lifestyle changes as well as herbs or nutritional supplements.

Balance your neurotransmitters.
Are you depressed or suffer from mood swings?
Do you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks?
Has your appetite increased or decreased?

If your neurotransmitters are out of balance you are probably experiencing some tell tale symptoms. Neurotransmitters are the body’s chemical messengers, responsible for regulating many of the body’s functions, such as physical and mental performance, sleep cycle, weight, pain awareness and response and our emotional states. Essentially they are the communication system of the mind, body and nervous system. Neurotransmitter imbalances are caused by a number of factors such as nutritional deficiencies, food allergies or sensitivities, stress, and poor gastrointestinal health. Identifying the cause of your problem and finding the solution will help your mind and body communicate effectively and then your organ systems will function as they should.

Learn how to control inflammation.
Do you suffer from eczema or asthma?
Are your joints swollen and stiff?
Do you suffer from aches and pains?
Do you frequently use painkillers?

Inflammation is the body’s response to injury, irritation or infection and it is the underlying cause of many degenerative diseases. Frequent use of pain killers can damage the stomach and only mask symptoms unless the cause of the problem is identified. Let me help you find the cause of your symptoms and show you how to control inflammation by including anti-inflammatory foods in a healthy diet, lifestyle advice and suggestions for the safe use of anti-inflammatory herbs and nutritional supplements.

Reduce & remove damaging toxins from your body.
Do you suffer from headaches or migraines?
Do you find it difficult to tolerate even a small amount of alcohol?
Do you have dark circles under your eyes or suffer from a stuffy nose?

Maybe it’s time to cleanse your body of any toxins that have either been manufactured in your body or have accumulated from environmental sources. Chemicals found around the home or workplace and in the air and water, such as pesticides, herbicides, perfume, cleaning supplies, home furnishings, clothing and plastics, may be affecting your health. Find out how to assist your liver, lungs and kidneys, as well as the often forgotten organs of elimination, the bowel and skin, to remove unwanted toxins from your body the natural way.

Strengthen your immune system.
Do you find it difficult to fight off colds or flu?
Are you struggling to get over an infection?
Are you always picking up every bug that goes around?

If you are tired of feeling like it’s just too hard to get out of bed each morning, it could be time to get your immune system back into shape. Learn what foods place an added burden on your immune system and how a healthy diet can support it. Nutritional deficiencies may also contribute to poor immunity and once these are identified and rectified you will be able to fight off infections much better. You may also like to boost your immune system with herbs or homoeopathic remedies.

Support your nervous system.
Do you ever forget where you put the keys?
Suffer from mood swings?
Find you can remember things from the past but forget recent events?

Taking care of your brain is essential to living a long and healthy life. Memory problems affect more and more people as they age but this does not mean you will be a candidate for dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. While genes may play a part in the development of the disease, changes to diet and lifestyle can have a big impact on how well we age. So let me show you how

A little bit about Ginkgo Longevity Clinic

I began my working life as a Home Economics teacher in both secondary schools and T.A.F.E. colleges and have always had a passion for food and nutrition, as well as culinary and medicinal herbs. I became interested in natural therapies when my children were young and later when conventional medicine did not seem to have the answers for personal and family health concerns, I was prompted to make a career change and pursue a new course of study in naturopathy. As a naturopath, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit my clinic so that I can assist you to regain your health and vitality through natural therapies.
