Stress is a common occurrence in everyday life and we sometimes also encounter feelings of anxiety. These are perfectly normal physical and emotional responses that our minds create in relation to a worry or perceived threat. When we resolve the worry or threat, the anxiety leaves us.

In some situations, anxiety evolves into being out of proportion to the stimuli that caused it and becomes unmanageable or immobilising. This can occur when a person is responding to a pattern in a series of events and the level of anxiety may be assimilated and become an accepted part of everyday life.
