About Hannah Wilkins
I am a remedial massage therapist, Emmett/Bowen therapist, casual lecturer at SMTAFE in the Diploma of Remedial massage and yoga teacher. Personally, I have been a continuing student of massage and other body work modalities that come under the umbrella of “Massage Therapy” since 1994. I have also practiced yoga since 1994.
As part of my Diploma of Remedial Massage I studied;
Modalities I have learnt on top of my Remedial massage include;
I am currently self employed in a Physiotherapy centre in Fremantle, and enjoy being part of a team of health care professionals who are committed to quality care.
I enjoy mixing the various modalities I have learned, though I have a particular interest in ‘Bowen therapy’ and ‘Emmett technique’. Both are techniques developed in Australia, and I find both to be highly efficient and pain free methods of relieving muscle/fascial tension. I also enjoy using cranio-sacral techniques and positional release.
I have taught a range of subjects including Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Sports massage, Positional release, Postural massage and MET, Pregnant and Post-Natal Massage and Reflexology. Recently I have been specialising in massage to assist people with Chronic conditions and myofascial release. I love the work I do, and feel very honoured to be a part of such a fabulous team of educators.
I have a great belief in self care as a massage therapist, and in my experience it appears essential to a long career in massage. Therefore I practice and teach Hatha yoga, I receive remedial massage, network chiropractic care and acupuncture, and am very conscious about having a healthy diet and lifestyle. My other favourite pastime is to dance and I enjoy learning and performing Egyptian and West African styles.
Health fund rebates apply for body work treatments. I also offer a concession rate for pensioners and students.
