Laughter Yoga is based on the principle that ‘laughter is the best medicine’. It is based on the scientific fact: your body is unable to distinguish between simulated and real laughter. Thus, ‘real’ laughter and ‘fake’ laughter provides the exact same benefits to our bodies and minds. Laughter brings down the levels of anxiety and stress hormones such as adrenaline, cortisol, dopamins and it increases health promoting hormones like endorphins. Therefore laughing is effective in the reduction of pain, stress and conflict.
