Health Spring TCM uses cupping and massage in a combined treatment approach along with Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and Gua Sha (Spooning).
Here at Health Spring TCM we provide massage as a component of your Chinese medicine treatment in combination with Gua Sha, Cupping, and Moxa where appropriate. The massage techniques are utilised are based on Chinese Tui Na styles, which may be likened to sports, remedial, Thai, and deep tissue massage.
Cupping is conducted when a glass ‘cup’ is heated with a naked flame and in doing this, all of the oxygen within the glass cup is burnt, developing a vacuum. When this is placed on top of a certain acupuncture point, the skin of the area is then safely and painlessly raised slightly into the vacuum developed by the cup.
The aim of this vacuum is to withdraw and ‘suck’ toxins that have built-up within the body which causes pain and illness. By doing so, circulation of the are is balanced and overall healing is promoted.
