Amanda understands that each person is a complex blend of the physical body, mind and emotions. All of these aspects are capable of affecting the other and impacting on your health and happiness.

She believes that your health should mean a lot more than just the absence of disease. Our busy modern lifestyle, stress and environmental toxins are taking their toll on the health of our society.

Conditions such as fatigue, insomnia, aches and pains, bloating, headaches, weight gain or frequent colds and ‘flu, are common. They may not be identified as “disease”, but their presence indicates “dis-ease”. They may be early warning signs that your body is not getting the attention it deserves.

No matter what your current level of wellbeing is, Amanda’s aim is always to assist you to identify and reach your full health potential, so you are brimming with good health and vitality!

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic natural medical system that dates back 5000 years. It addresses the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms.

It combines acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Moxabustion, cupping, massage, food therapy, exercise therapy and lifestyle advice, to help clear energy blockages, balance Yin and Yang and bring about good health in the body, mind and spirit.

By clearing obstruction, the body’s energy and blood can flow freely, giving relief to a wide range of disorders.

TCM can treat diseases of the cardio-vascular, respiratory, digestive, uro-genital and gyneacological systems.

Some examples of conditions that respond very well to TCM include:
  • pain – back, neck, knee, muscle or joint pain, headaches, migraines, carpel tunnel syndrome, sciatica, post surgery pain
  • stress and emotional problems – anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia and depression
  • digestive – bloating, nausea, reflux, constipation, diarrhea, IBS
  • immune – frequent infections, low energy
  • hormonal and fertility – irregular or painful periods, fibroids, menopausal symptoms, infertility
  • skin – itching, rashes, eczema, acne
Because TCM uses a different diagnostic paradigm to western medicine, some patients find relief from conditions previously undiagnosed, or seemingly unrelated.

Acupuncture

How does it work?
Simply put, acupuncture uses fine, sterile needles inserted into points on the meridians (energy pathways) to stimulate Qi (your body’s vital energy force).

In western terms the treatment helps to balance hormonal and neurotransmitter signals and encourages your body’s own healing powers.

Each person’s experience of acupuncture is different, however, most patients are very comfortable and relaxed during an acupuncture treatment.

Nutritional Medicine

“Let food be your medicine” said Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine. While modern or “allopathic” medicine is barely a century old, the practice of natural medicine using nature as the pharmacy can be traced back through all of the ancient civilizations.

Amanda is passionate about the importance of the role of food in improving and sustaining your health. Looking closely at your current diet gives her an indication of how your health can be improved from some short term or long term changes in your diet. It may also identify potential sources of disease.

Nutritional Medicine looks at how supplementing your diet with the correct high quality remedies can enhance your health and speed your recovery.

As the Global financial crisis seems to be sinking its teeth into our disposable income, so called luxury items can be the first things sacrificed. Some people may consider their wellbeing a “luxury item” but they should think again.

YOUR HEALTH IS YOUR WEALTH, is one of my favourite mantras, after all, if you haven’t got your health what good is all the money in the world. Make an investment in your wellbeing today.
