What is Holistic Counselling?

Counselling itself comes under two main categories; Clinical and Holistic.

While Counselling is defined as the provision of professional assistance and guidance in resolving personal or psychological problems, there are many differences between these two modalities of therapy.

Holistic: Characterized by the universal belief that each area of our lifestyle and wellbeing is interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole. Individualized treatment of the whole (body, mind and soul) person, while considering a variety of mental and social factors (rather than just the symptoms of the client’s concerns) which creates a unique environment to explore one’s options and beliefs to support positive, lasting changes.

When we address each area of our life, we can begin noticing the patterns within our existence. This can attribute to relationships, employment and societal (to name a few). By consciously making positive changes to our lifestyles, we begin to manifest more positive opportunities for ourselves, in alignment with our personal core beliefs and values.

What can I expect during a Consultation?

Using a variety of mindfulness techniques, as well as self-inquiry, goal-setting, analysis and personal development methods, I encourage the development of self-awareness, acceptance, accountability and empowerment in developing strategies to encourage optimal holistic (mental, physical and spiritual) health and wellbeing.

What improvements can I expect to notice within my life?

The therapeutic process is a deeply sacred and personal journey which will be experienced differently by each person.

Positive improvements that are often identified by clients and their loved ones include:

• Increased levels of calm (relaxation), focus, enhanced clarity and visualization


• Communication improvements (including positive effects on personal relationships)


• A decrease in addictive behaviours


• Improved ability to cope with stress, anxiety and trauma

Holistic Counselling addresses each area of an individual’s lifestyle. We recognise that when one area of our life cairn is out of alignment, an imbalance within our body, mind and soul often results, which may create further concerns.
By incorporating tools and strategies which are specifically designed to promote clarity, expression, harmony, and relaxation we can begin to see many positive, lasting effects on health and wellbeing.
