We know that diets don’t work in the long run. How many people say, “I’ve tried everything but nothing changes the way I eat”?

An estimated 95% of all people who diet put the weight back on after dieting and often end up heavier. The Virtual Gastric Band does not involve a diet, deprivation or denial. These merely serve to programme the mind to think about food. In the denial of comfort foods, and eating differently to the rest of the family, three things happen: the brain fights against it, the body fights against it and the day to day environment of your home fights against it.

Conscious self-denial of something can often increase the desire for that very thing, and eating a little less than we need – but eating anything we want – can actually lead to weight loss. Cutting down on our favourite foods is achievable and sustainable but cutting them out completely by using will power will only lead to those established habits coming to the fore each time a certain set of circumstances prevail.

Everyone knows that eating less and exercising more will lead to a better body shape, improved fitness and all-round health. This programme employs a virtual gastric band and other mind management techniques, and is most decidedly NOT a diet. It enables clients to form new habits that they can maintain; there is no deprivation and thus clients are liberated from having to think about food all the time; they eat consciously, and are able to listen to what their stomachs are telling them. The result is steady, progressive weight loss – without dieting. There is a permanent change in attitude to food and people’s relationship to it.

The astonishing results of a trial in the UK in 2010 showed a loss in weight of 89 kg between 25 people in three weeks! All but one reported a change in attitude to food. The average weight loss on the programme is between 500g – 1 kg per week without dieting. Now, although this sounds really good nothing can be guaranteed because we are all individuals and therefore respond to programmes differently.

The programme involves four weekly sessions and you are provided with a companion CD which is listened to daily. This is not about weigh-ins, you will know by the way your clothes fit and the way you feel what has changed.
