An unfortunate family tragedy led Ilona to pursue her studies of the human body and health after she started her career as a remedial massage therapist.

Her interest in structural studies and neuro-musculoskeletal pain led to her completion of her Masters in Osteopathy.

While running her own Remedial Massage business, she worked with gymnasts; following graduation, she worked at a physiotherapy clinic so she could gain experience in a clinical setting.

Ilona has a strong interest in movement, function, and how they relate to structure having previously worked with personal trainers and exercise physiologists.

She treats a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including injury prevention, rehabilitation and dysfunction.

Exercise prescription, pain education, and various techniques that empower patients to achieve their goals complement her passion for person-centred treatment.

Illy focuses on finding the most appropriate and effective therapy routine for each individual based on their personal history and existing musculoskeletal imbalances.

She is passionate about bringing hope and lasting results to those who feel trapped in an endless cycle of pain.

Services Offered

Remedial Massage

The goal of Remedial Massage is to treat the whole body holistically and trace the discomfort to its original cause, healing both the cause and symptom of the disorder.

Remedial massage uses specific techniques including:

  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Myofascial Release
  • Myofascial Cupping
  • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)
  • Muscle Energy Technique

It is frequently used to treat the following musculoskeletal dysfunctions:

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Tension headaches
  • Repetitive strain injuries
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Tennis elbow
  • Sciatic pain
  • TMJ dysfunction
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Poor posture
  • Scoliosis
  • Whiplash
Sports Massage

If you're an amateur or professional athlete, your body needs to rest after training to recover from fatigue and develop resilience.

As training progresses, the body's ability to recover between sessions is reduced. Muscle pain, joint pain, inflammation of tendons and bursitis are symptoms of incomplete recovery.

The best treatment for muscle tension is sports massage, and you can use it regularly to prevent overuse injuries or to manage specific injuries based on the symptoms they present.

Kinesiotaping

An injury or trauma to the body sets off the body's natural protective mechanism, causing pain, swelling, heat, and limited movement.

The pressure created by swelling causes pain, so reducing the pressure will reduce the pain.

With Kinesiology tape, fluid can flow freely by lifting the skin, allowing more blood into the injured area and allowing lymph fluid to drain from the area, thus decreasing inflammation.

Lymphatic Drainage

You can include lymphatic drainage massage as part of a relaxing, cleansing, and detoxification program to improve overall health and well-being.

Through this treatment, the body eliminates metabolic waste, excess fluid, bacteria, toxins, large proteins molecules, and foreign substances.
