Julie has a background of 35 years experience in the health and healing industry, working as a registered nurse (and later as a midwife and university lecturer) in a wide variety of health care settings, gaining experience and post graduate qualifications in nursing, education and counselling.
Julie’s interest in natural therapies began while nursing and also raising children, and exploring safe and effective means to promote wellbeing and support the amazing ability of our bodies to heal.
Seeking to shift her focus away from illness, onto wellness and health (including healthy environments), led Julie to complete a diploma of remedial massage in 2002. She then chose to live and work on a tropical island for several years, followed by a year as a destination spa therapist, and work experience at different health retreats.
During the past 8 years Julie has continued to study complementary healing therapies such as craniosacral therapy, theta and pranic healing, manual lymphatic drainage, gentle birth preparation, Bowen therapy, Emmett Technique and thai yoga massage, and bio-energetic and vibrational energy healing systems, and nutrition. Currently Julie is studying pilates instructor certification which brings to her practice an additional understanding of functional movement.
Many of these methods have their origins in ancient systems of healing, now quantifiable in quantum physics and medical research. The potential for personal transformation, balance and healing is truly amazing as we become aware of our inter-relatedness with the universal energy field.
treatments often will be an integration of different therapies, always tailored to clients requirements and preferences, and offer gentle and safe techniques to alleviate pain, tension and stress and promote relaxation, wellbeing and vitality.
