Integrated Health Therapies - Counselling & Psychology

Leanda Cawdry

Clinical Psychologist

www.becomingyoupsychology.com

$190 ($65 gap with referral and Mental health care plan from your GP) Concession rates available

Leanda works with adults, kids, and everything in between. You will find her warm, non-judgmental and dedicated to finding the recipe that works best for you. She approaches her work with energy, creativity and a sense of fun. Her's speciality is working with people who are experiencing intense emotions like sadness, anxiety, panic, anger, grief and trauma. For adults, this doesn't always look like an intense emotional outburst (some teens call this “going psycho”), it can look like being on edge, wound up and impatient. It can also look like excessive tiredness, crying a lot, not wanting to see friends, or finding it hard to enjoy things. And it can even look like drinking or eating too much! For kids it can look like yelling, tantrums, excessive clinginess, acting out, or avoiding things that most kids are okay to do. Leanda's other speciality areas are social skills, eating disorders, and pain management.

Amanda was educated on both sides of the Pacific, and takes a unique strength based approach to her work. She focuses on the positive and treats each person as an individual.

She uses evidence-based approaches to treat her patients in an atmosphere of compassion and understanding. She has extensive experience treating people of all ages and she specializes in treating the emotional aspects of illness. Evidence suggests that when people are ill, they are more likely to become depressed or anxious. This, in turn, exacerbates the illness. Amanda specializes in treating this complex relationship between feeling and health in order to maximize your health and wellbeing.
Amanda also specializes in treating young adults and teens struggling with life or school and addiction issues.
