What to expect

Each class begins with supported asanas (postures) that open the chest, lungs and front body and prepare the mind to focus inward. Followed by more energetic asanas that develop strength, flexibility, vitality and awareness.

All classes conclude with savasana (relaxation).

Classes are tailored to suit each individuals capabilities allowing students to develop at their own pace.

Open Level Class: suitable for beginners and experienced students looking to refine their practise.

Focus is on foundational practises and includes standing poses, forward bends, twists, baby backbends and breath awareness.

Experience Open Class: Suitable for intermediate and experienced students looking to develop their yoga practise. This class provides something more than just a stretch class, the term is often themed and as a result of regular attendance, your practise, insight and understanding of the subject and self can develop.

Classes include sun salutes, standing poses, forward bends, twists, backbends, inversions, pranayama and chanting.

Variations are given in all classes to students with injuries or health concerns.

The Benefits of Yoga

Yoga means union. Our intention behind practising is to unite body, mind and soul to enhance our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Yoga builds and balances energy and nurtures the nervous system.

Health is not just an absence of disease. For optimal health the joints, tissue, muscles, cells, nerves, glands and each system of the body must be in a state of balance and harmony.

Good health results from perfect communication between each and every part of the body and mind.

In part, yoga's popularity can be attributed to its therapeutic effects on both the body and mind.

Throughout the ages yoga has evolved and today is seen as a universal and comprehensive practise open to all.
