About Us

Canberra Acupuncture and Cosmetic Acupuncture Clinic’s approach to heath care employs individualised therapies, which address not only the symptoms of disease, but the cause. The Chinese Medicine clinic was established in 2004 by practitioner Jinghua Zheng. Jing emphasises on a holistic approach to treat an extensive number of diseases by applying the theories and techniques of Chinese Medicine. This ensures that the health and wellbeing of patients is thoroughly scrutinised before establishing treatment procedures. Each practitioner is highly qualified and equipped with extensive experience - this is reflected in Canberra Acupuncture and Cosmetic Acupuncture Clinic’s practice. The practice has three female practitioners, Ms. Jinghua Zheng (Owner of practice), Ms. Vivien Zhu and Ms. Jessica Zhu.

Jing is particularly interested in fertility/IVF assistance for both women and men, and prenatal and postnatal care for women. She applies  posture assessment skill in combinate with acupuncture (or acupressure for whose are nervous with acupucnture needles) to management of acute pain, and chronic pain in adults and children.  She helps  people who experience mental illness, or are recovering from surgery and other injuries. She has received an Academic Excellence Award from the Department of Health Science at CIT (2004) and an Academic Excellence for achieving the highest final mark in the Gynaecology modules at Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2011).

Vivien Zhu completed her degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology. She has had extensive training and experience with cosmetic dermatology techniques under the tutelage of Vivian Tam - one of the most respected cosmetic practitioners - including cosmetic acupuncture to help with wrinkles and fine lines; sagging and drooping skin; puffy eyes; pigmentation and dark spots; dull and dry skin; uneven skin tone and texture; acne scarring; and skin elasticity. Cosmetic Acupuncture’s foundation is supported by 5000 years of documentation and has since been refined and developed into a practice we can apply to modern Australia. Using different techniques on different facial regions, very fine needles - which are manufactured specifically for the face - are inserted to stimulate production of collagen and elastin to achieve a firming effect. Vivien incorporates acupuncture, herbs, Gua Sha, dietary and lifestyle advice to not only address the internal and external health of each individual, but also to assist in rejuvenating the face. Vivien is very passionate about bringing your inner beauty to the surface and committed to providing quality client-centred holistic care to help her clients re-establish inner balance and maintain their optimal health.

Jessica Zhu completed her degree in Tradition Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology Sydney. She also provides cosmetic services as a make-up artist, such as party and wedding make-up for men and women. She is particularly interested in Women's health and cosmetic therapy.

How Acupuncture Relieves Your Pain and Inflammation

“If there is free flow, there is no pain, If there is pain, there is no free flow.” - Traditional Chinese Medicine Axiom

Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on the understanding that living beings have a vital energy, also known as “Qi”. This life force circulates through twelve invisible channels in the body. Each channel is associated with a different organ – hence an imbalance of Qi, or it’s flow, can lead to disorders or disease.

Acupuncture is a 3000 year old healing practice in which thin needles are inserted at specific points into the body’s channels where Qi flows. It is primarily used to relieve pain, however it can also assist with other diseases.
