About Brendan
My Name is Brendan McMahon and I am a qualified and registered psychologist and psychotherapist who runs a private practice in Silverton Place on Wickham Terrace at Spring Hill in the Brisbane CBD. I have more than 15 years of experience in the fields of counselling, psychotherapy and psychology. I have a specific interest in providing long-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy (at times called psychodynamic psychotherapy), but also conducts shorter-term psychotherapy. This method of therapy is aligned best to those individuals who place a high value on individual growth and would like to understand themselves better and what motivates them. It is out of this insight and understanding that individuals come to perceive themselves in a different light and more realistically and can develop new ways of feeling, thinking, behaving and relating to others. It is a chance to break out of old patterns of habitually behaving, giving more meaning to life, finding more self-acceptance and thus a happier life.
