Naturopathy

Naturopathy is an umbrella term for a variety of therapies that focus on the client as an individual person. These therapies include herbal medicine, nutritional medicine, homeopathy, flower essences and lifestyle coaching.
Naturopathy is a wonderful healing modality to prevent disease, and also to avoid the progression of an illness you may already have. Illnesses often begin as small changes such as feeling consistently tired or having a low mood. These symptoms, however vague, are vital signs the body is presenting to prompt valuable reflection on how you can move towards wellbeing.

Aromatherapy

Kate uses gorgeous, high quality essential oils specially chosen for their calming, anti-inflammatory and soothing effects in a very gentle massage.

This is the treatment for you if you’re feeling frazzled and are in need of some “Me’ time. A-type personalities that have forgotten how to slow down will finally be peaceful in this little treatment.

We start by grounding the busy body with a blend of spruce, rosemary, frankincense and blue tansy to bring you back down to earth. After we’ve got your body and mind connected again we turn our attention to switching off that pesky sympathetic nervous system. Lavender is the choice of oil here for its deliciously sleepy effect.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a gentle, relaxing and holistic remedial therapy that can be applied to many different health conditions.

Bowen Therapy was developed in Australia in the 1950s and works by rolling over specific muscle areas to alert the nervous system to muscle tension. This rolling action also lifts the fascial tissue, also aiding in releasing muscle tension. Fascia is the connective tissue that holds in place all of the muscles and organs and if this becomes tightened or constricted, so do the associated muscles. Fascial tissue is rich in neuro-muscular receptors that have control of muscle tension and pain. By stimulating these receptors, we are encouraging your own body to use its innate ability to correct dysfunctions and restore balance once again.

Meet Kate

Our guess is that you’ve landed at this website because you’re looking for a Naturopath, but as you might have already noticed, you’ve got much more than you bargained for. Kate studied at the Australian Institute of Holistic Medicine to achieve Advanced Diplomas in Naturopathy as well as Western Herbal Medicine.

To stay abreast of industry standards, Kate is now a candidate for a Bachelor of Health Science at the Endeavour College of Natural Medicine. In her clinical practice, Kate holds a firm belief in the integration of orthodox medicine – that is, the type you receive from your doctor or pharmacist – and complementary & alternative medicine.  By considering these two health sciences, she can truly offer the best form of care to her clients.

Kate takes on a teaching role in each consultation, aiming to empower the client to take control of their health. Kate encourages all of her clients to have faith in their body, positive believing goes a long way, you know. But there is so much more to Kate than being a Naturopath…

Having country roots and a farming background helps Kate have a very practical approach to the therapies offered in each consultation.  Being aFarmer’s Daughter has shown Kate that there needs to be a high level of appreciation for the mammoth effort required for growing food and just how important conscious consuming is.

Kate is a lover of Pilates and the holism it offers as a way of movement.  Kate is addicted to her one-on-one Studio sessions at the Pilates Fitness Institute.  Kate began the traditional floor based Pilates classes a few years ago when searching for something to help an injury and has never looked back!

Kate is also a self confessed foodie and has a passion for cooking with the freshest ingredients.  Keep an eye out on the blog for new recipes that are designed for wholefood nutrition and a waste-not-want-not attitude.
