ACUPUNCTURE -
Acupuncture can be used for many many health complaints. It uses small needles (no, it doesn't hurt!) in specific spots, to alleviate pain, and to bring your body into balance. Health, according to Chinese medicine, naturally occurs when you are in balance (doctors call this "homeostasis"), and illness occurs when you are out of balance. Individual diagnosis is always made, to ascertain where you need treatment, and Acupuncture (and Moxibustion) is given in appropriate areas to achieve well-being. Acupuncture is relaxing (yes, really!) and you feel great afterwards.

MOXIBUSTION -
What is moxibustion?
I'm often asked this question. Moxa is a substance that is burnt close to the surface of your body. It's warmth, when used on specific areas, can bring great relief from pain and encourage the body's ability to heal itself from injury.
You might, for example, have stiff neck and shoulders (you're not alone!). The warmth from well-placed moxa penetrates deep into your muscles, and relaxes the 'muscle knots" (see photo). If you have an injury, the heat from moxa speeds your recovery time.

CHINESE MEDICINE -
Chinese medicine incorporates your whole being, from your body to your spirit. Diet, lifestyle and stress factors are all taken into account in your individual diagnosis and Chinese medicine treatment.
