What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a medical science that has been practiced, developed and refined for over two thousand years.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of ultra fine, single-use, disposable needles into specific sites on the body, sending signals to the brain which in turn effects a change in the body.
How does it work?
Acupuncture makes use of the science of neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to change and grow) to achieve cumulative and long lasting effects. Acupuncture effectively trains your brain to be more efficient in the way it directs your body to heal itself.
Acupuncture works to optimise your body’s capacity to self regulate and repair. Because your body does all the work the outcomes can be long lasting and side effects rare and minimal.
What can I expect?
The results from acupuncture are progressive and compounding. Generally after the first treatment the improvement will be felt for a few hours to a few days, after the second treatment the results last longer again and so on.
Some conditions can be treated quickly and effectively, other more complex conditions can take longer.
