Calmbirth®

Do you have fears about the birth of your baby, hearing lots of stories, that in some cases are all about c-sections and epidurals?
Calmbirth® is a form of childbirth education, it teaches you the birth process as natural and with trust and knowledge (in normal circumstances) you can achieve the birth that you dream of.

Calmbirth® encourages you to use your inner resources with tools that you possess such as breathing visualisation and relaxation and how hormones are your helpers. This will eliminate your fear which will eliminate the fight – flight response.

Calmbirth ® is great for your partners as it gives them the knowledge of the birth process so they can support you and not try to rescue you, the knowledge gives them the confidence to say yes you can do this . What a wonderful start for you and your family

About Kim

Doula and calmbirth® Practitioner
As a Doula and Calmbirth practitioner I am passionate about supporting women and their partners throughout pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.
My dream was always to be a Mum and luckily for my husband and me we have had the gift of having 3 wonderful children. My children are now teenagers and have started their own journey of independence.

I realised that with having 3 completely different birth experiences of my own and also hearing all my friends’ stories that each couples’ birth experience was so different. With research I realised that In normal circumstances couples that have been educated with knowledge of the birth process were trusting and seemed to have a more natural and rewarding outcome. With this information I went on to become a Doula and calmbirth® Practitioner

I qualified as a Doula in 2007 from Birth Central now called Australian Doula College in Erskinville , which was just amazing. After supporting many births and with my own birth experience I realised that if you have knowledge of the birth process and learn how to breathe you will trust in your natural ability to birth your baby – this led me to become a calmbirth® practitioner training with the amazing Peter Jackson. I qualified as a calmbirth® practitioner in Feb 2008. I also completed my Childbirth & Early Parenting Education Studies in 2011.

I am so happy and feel privileged to share my knowledge with couples so that they can birth their babies with confidence and trust in themselves.

I live and work on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and I am available for calmbirth® courses and Doula support throughout Sydney.
