Kinfolk Physiotherapy & Wellness - Knee Pain
Focus areas
At some point we have all experienced some pain in our knees, whether it’s climbing a set of stairs, training for a half-marathon or perhaps simply sitting with your knee bent. Knee pain is common and is experienced by many. The issue is that once your knee has been strained, it will often go into what we call protective mode. This is where the outer quadriceps, ITB, hamstrings and calf muscles will simultaneously tighten up, whilst the inner knee stabiliser (VMO) and glutes will switch off. This may eventually lead to an excess of pressure in the kneecap (patella) and in some cases can outlast the original injury. This muscle imbalance is often tough to recover from on your own and can perhaps become chronic. We are here to tell you that there is definitely something that you can do!
Our specific and unique approach will have you seeing improvements from the first day through an effective combination of expert assessment and effective hands-on treatments.
