Knox Chinese Healing - Myotherapy and Tuina

Myotherapy employs soft-tissue techniques to physically diagnose, treat and manage muscular disorders. The skeletal muscles are very vulnerable to injury and should be checked regularly and cared for by a Myotherapist (Therapeutic Massage Expert).

A Myotherapist will use deep soft tissue manipulation, passive stretch, corrective exercise, dry needling, electrical stimulation, taping, cupping and education as part of your treatment.

Myotherapy is ideal for the management of muscular dysfunction including:
  • myofascial pain syndrome
  • myofascial trigger points
  • TMJ disorder
  • tennis elbow
  • golfers' elbow
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • sports injuries
It’s also ideal for the treatment of other systemic disorders including:
  • Circulatory dysfunction
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Post-viral myalgic conditions
  • Vitamin deficiency
  • Endocrine disorders

Tuina is a hands-on Massage Therapy that uses tactile manipulation of the meridians of the body. Tuina is one of the oldest traditional therapies and is an ideal modality to manage pain, tension and muscle stiffness.

Tuina offers many benefits. The therapy uses traction and massage techniques to manipulate the body's meridians in order to tackle the problem directly; muscles relax easing chronic pains, the nervous system also enters into a deep relaxed state which creates a sense of emotional well-being as well as promotes self-healing
