Lotus Centre - Meditation
Yoga is so much more than just stretching and practicing postures (asana), it also includes breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation. Yoga's principles are based on ancient teachings commonly known as the eight limbs of yoga.
We offer the following Yoga Classes:
Beginner's Yoga Classes are based on the classical yoga taught in India and will cover the basics. You will learn the physical postures and breathing techniques as well as relaxation and meditation.
For mums to be, a special class is needed as some yoga postures are unsuitable during pregnancy. This is a gentle yet invigorating course suitable for all mumís, no experience necessary. You will learn about: the challenges of pregnancy, baby bonding and preparation for birth; how yoga can help with pregnancy-related ailments and natural birth preparation; and breath work, active birthing and natural pain relief.
Hatha Yoga Therapy
Hatha Yoga is a gentle, inward focused practice involving breath, movement and holding of postures. It is not usually an athletic or aerobic practice and is less of a workout then the other more dynamic Yoga styles. Hatha literally means Sun and Moon and is designed to link both the active and passive aspects of nature.
Mindfulness Meditation for Stress Management
Mindfulness meditation is a process of discovering how to accept each moment as it arises, being with ourselves and getting comfortable with what we find. Meditation can be described as the process of ceasing disruptions in the mind.
