Remedial Massage
Remedial massage is the evaluation and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to help with rehabilitation, pain and injury management. It's performed to create the ideal conditions for the body to come back to optimum wellbeing after injury and is characterized by the effectively reverse the negative effects a patient may be suffering. Remedial massage is highly beneficial in the reduction of pain if the patient has suffered a moderate injury which has lead to structural pain and/or loss of function in that area. Remedial massage is intended to adjust muscle/soft tissue length, tension, tone which will thus return the joint/capsular/bone back to its intended position.
Remedial massage removes blockages, damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesions as result of injury by stimulating the flow of blood and lymph.
Acupuncture Therapy
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a 3000 year old traditional Chinese medicine healing system, which involves the insertion of fine needles into particular acupuncture points around the whole body. These acu-focuses are situated on energy pathways called meridians.
How does needle Acupuncture work?
Modern medication recognises that acupuncture points relate to groups of muscle fibres, and nerve endings that are found throughout the body, and when a needle is embedded the nerves are stimulated. Causing a change in the individuals health.
Does Acupuncture hurt?
For the most part, no. At times the needles can feel somewhat uncomfortable on insertion, yet they don't feel like a common needle like one used for a blood test. This is because the needles are a small, marginally thicker than the hair on your head.
