I am a Level 2 Yoga Teacher and have been teaching Yoga, Relaxation and Meditation Classes in Canberra in the Satyananda Yoga style for over 30 years.
My classes have been designed to fill you with a sense of physical wellbeing, calm and relaxation. Many of my students have commented that their sleeping improves and their stress decreases once start taking my classes.
My Yoga experience took place more than 30 years ago when Satyananda Yoga teachers visited Young in NSW for a weekend workshop. During the workshop, I experienced a feeling of calm and wellbeing that I had never felt before and so began a lifelong study, practice and love of yoga.
My first Yoga Teaching experience was in Young before I moved to Canberra, where I taught classes for the Satyananda Yoga Ashram in Narrabundah and Queanbeyan.
I then went on in 1999 to open my own home Yoga studio in Canberra (Campbell) where I continue to hold Yoga Classes.
I have experience teaching Yoga in schools, government departments, workplaces and a NSW jail/detention centre.
I am an affiliated and accredited Level 2 Yoga Teacher with Satyananda Yoga Academy and have held the positions of President, Vice-President and Secretary of the Satyananda Yoga Teachers Association (SYTA) over the years.
The Satyananda Yoga Teachers' Association Inc. was founded in 1996 under the guidance of Paramahamsa Niranjanananda by Yoga Teachers who had been trained in the Satyananda Yoga tradition.
The SYTA is a professional association of Yoga Teachers offering support to its members enabling them to teach Yoga in the Satyananda Yoga tradition, maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical standards and adhering to the SYTA’s code of practice. The organisation aims to provide its members with opportunities for professional development and enhance the quality of Yoga teaching in the community.
