Welcome to Maven Meditation

Maven Meditation offers simple 30-minute guided meditation sessions incorporating practical mindfulness tools to help you find balance in your body, mind and emotions.

Just one session can improve your whole day and regular practice can enhance your entire life. Drop in and visit us or book online; suitable for beginners and more experienced meditators.

Maven's Mission

Maven Meditation exists to help busy people find a space of calm and clarity in the midst of their active and at times anxious working days and lives. Our city studio is quite simply a place to learn and practice meditation in a clean, comfortable and convenient location. There’s no need to tie your-self up in knots or seek out an isolated mountaintop (unless that’s your thing of course).

Like everything – the more you put in, the more you get back. Regular practice of mindfulness meditation will nurture your body, mind and emotions; helping you operate at your best. Although meditation is simple, it can be tricky to get started or maintain a practice on your own. It is our mission to create and provide the perfect environment to maximise your chances of success.

Meet Megan

Owner Megan Panther has continually challenged herself to learn new ways to work better, feel better, and be more effective. She wants to provide a space where others can have a down-to-earth experience of meditation and its benefits – as demonstrated by scientific research and her own direct observation.

The span of her career reflects her dedication to creating work conditions where people grow and flourish. She has performed a range of roles in operations and people management in various environments including the resources sector and large brand companies.

Ready for a new and meaningful challenge, Megan founded Maven Meditation with the typical dual intention of a maven; to learn more about enhancing her own experience of life and sharing what she knows and learns with others, so they may do the same.

About Meditation

The Nuts & Bolts

Mindfulness is the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something; a mental state. Mindfulness Meditation is: focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.
It’s as simple as that – paying attention in the present moment.

At Maven Meditation we do not practice any religious or sectarian form of meditation – no special clothes or bells (or whistles) required! Our techniques are based on solid, evidence-based scientific research.

Why Meditate?

In short because it makes you feel better; even if you already feel good! In recent years, extensive research in psychology, neuroscience, neurobiology and workplace wellbeing has shown that meditation:

  • Increases mental clarity & focus

  • Sharpens decision making & creative thinking

  • Improves ability to cope with difficult emotions & pain

  • Elevates mood and promotes calm

  • Reduces blood pressure and regulates heart rate

  • Eases stress and anxiety
