About Us

Our Passion

Mindful Moments Counselling is based in Sherwood, Brisbane, Australia. We have come about in order to meet the needs of a community. We don’t have to look too far to see people experiencing separation and loneliness instead of ‘commune’ and a feeling of togetherness and inclusion.

The way we feel and how we experience our life is fundamentally up to us. Mindful Moments Counselling is a service with a passion. One that allows you to access your extraordinary potential and provides simple, intelligent, lifelong tools that enable you to regain strength and confidence.

Counselling

We provide an uplifting, warm, supportive environment enabling you just to openly ‘be’. To be fully heard, with empathy and understanding, and without judgement. We provide a western, practical counselling approach through the use of a select range of complementary therapies.

Our therapists have a deep passion and understanding of the importance of allowing people to access the necessary tools that enable them to practise living with awareness, in the present moment and thereby encouraging freedom from attachment and desire, and a welcome return to happiness.

Our therapists acknowledge that their own greatest strengths are their daily Mindfulness and EFT practices.

Mindfulness

Being mindful is being at our happiest; performing at our most optimum, our most efficient. Being mindful is paying attention to what we’re doing right here and now. This is where the greatest happiness lays …

So… is this the type of happiness you experience every day?

erhaps instead you believe you’re happiest when thinking about the great vacation you just had or about something you’re looking forward to in the near future?

If you answer YES to any of the following, Mindfulness could be right for you:

• Do I focus on ‘what if’ rather than ‘what is’?
• Do I find the speed of life too rapid?
• Am I taking on more and more rather than less?
• Do I find that stress affects my functioning?
• Is my physical well-being impacting on my life?
• Do I often experience distracted attention?

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

EFT, otherwise known as “Tapping” and often described as acupuncture without the needles is very effective for rapidly reducing anxiety, stress and other emotional issues and it works on both real and imagined stressors. EFT significantly improves your self-esteem and resilience, and reduces negative emotional states.

We ask ourselves if it’s just us? EFT would answer in this simple way:

The event does not cause the emotional upset. It’s the thought about the event, which causes an energy disruption that consequently causes the negative emotion.

EFT however, balances this energy disruption and the emotions around the memory are released. This makes EFT a remarkable tool!!
