At Mind Heart Body Centre we believe in addressing the causative factors contributing to your problem and not just the area of pain.

Our common goal is YOU - working together as a team within our clinic, as well as your other treating health professionals, to achieve the best possible outcomes for you. We aim to improve the well-being of your mind, heart and body so you are more connected and grounded and are better equipped to face the challenges in your day-to-day life.

We understand that with pain and discomfort there are often other factors such as nutrition, mental, emotional and social stress that enter into the equation when treating you. Any of these factors will influence the others and often by addressing one, will have a positive flow on effect to decrease the effect of others. Ultimately we aim to help you balance your mind, heart and body to achieve optimum health and happiness.



Physiotherapy Via The Holistic Integrated Systems Model


Physiotherapy treatment is a method of assessing, diagnosing, and treating to facilitate the body's natural healing abilities.

At Mind Heart Body Centre we treat following the Integrated Systems Model. This model involves us assessing your body, looking at your whole body twists and rotations and unwinding them throughout your entire system to decrease your pain and allow your body to perform at its optimal level. We will find the main driver, or cause of your particular problem - be it pain, a sports specific weakness (eg difficulty driving off a particular leg or pitching), or difficulty performing an everyday task (eg lifting your arm to reach to the top shelf or balancing on one leg).

By the end of the initial assessment you will know:
  • Where and what the failed load transfer is that is causing your problem
  • How we will help you treat it
  • Expected treatment plans and outcomes
  • What is expected of you in terms of exercises to achieve your desired goal.
Duration:
Initial Consultations are 45 mins.
Follow up appointments can range from 30 mins to 60 mins depending on the complexity of our findings.



Physiotherapist-Led Pilates


We provide both Pilates Studio (equipment) sessions as well as mat-based sessions.

Studio sessions have a maximum of 3 people per class. These classes are excellent to work towards specific goals, as each of you will have your own exercise program that will be modified each session you attend.

Mat classes have a maximum of 9 people in a class. These classes are more of a general exercise class. We will be using small apparatus such as chi balls, magic circles, therabands.

Pilates in the present day is a form of exercise to increase core strength, improve flexibility, breathing, posture and mindfulness. From elite athletes and dancers to deconditioned rehabilitative clients, Pilates is able to enhance a personís ease and ability to move and perform strenuous, as well as everyday tasks.

Meditation


Meditation is a means of transforming the mind, heart and body.

Many people think the only way to meditate is to sit in a full lotus position. This is definitely one posture to practice meditation. But in actual fact, meditation can be integrated into daily tasks and activities so you are able to go through your whole day with increased mindfulness or awareness. You will become more aware of the habits of your mind, body and emotions and when ready, begin to take positive steps to cultivate more peace, stability and happiness in your life.

By practicing meditation you may experience:

  • More emotional stability
  • Improved mental clarity
  • Decreased stress levels
  • Increased feelings of contentment, calmness and peacefulness
