MindKeys Understands Young People:
Work with an experienced counsellor who really understands the challenges affecting young people
My name is Kim Michelle Hansen, and I will be your counsellor and clinical hypnotherapist. I have a passion for helping children, teens, and young adults balance their study, work, social, and emotional life.
You will learn that I am Masters qualified with more than three decades of experience in Counselling, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Applied Neuroscience, and Special Education. And, you will find that my practice is professional, ethical, private & confidential.
Throughout my career, I have worked with a multitude of young people along with their families and have had the honour of being part of their amazing success stories.

I started my career as a primary and high school teacher. Further down the road, I decided to specialise in the area of learning difficulties. In my effort to support good mental health and wellbeing, I was able to successfully combine my knowledge of neuroscience, child and adolescent development, learning and behaviour with Applied Neuroscience, Counselling, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Special Education.
With my over 30 years of experience working as a child, adolescent and young adult specialist, I have learned to understand the difficulties experienced by young people. I realised how hard it is for most to navigate family life, independence, relationships, as well as dealing with the pressures of school, TAFE or University, and career. This is how I used my unique array of skills to work therapeutically in helping them manage all this.
I always want to build my knowledge and keep up to date on current good mental health practices. And so, I make it a point to attend ongoing professional development platforms like conferences, workshops, and study. Working with teens and young adults with anxiety & depression has become a special area of interest.
I am also a certified Applied Neuroscience Practitioner. I have found that this augments my counselling practice and has provided me with an exciting science-backed approach to treatment.
I have had the pleasure of conducting Ethical Dilemma and Case Study workshops for the Professional Counselling Association of the ACT and NSW, Sydney Branch. I also try to engage regularly in Clinical Supervision, as well as performing Clinical Supervision for counsellors interstate as well as abroad.
