Harnessing the Power of Connection

Hi! I'm Rupa Parthasarathy from Pemulwuy NSW. Thank you for taking the time to visit MINDKSHETRA, where stories of all sorts are shared and deeply appreciated.

My personal story is all about braving adversities, confidently dealing with difficult situations, discovering who I really am, and building connections.

I grew up loving art. In fact, I've always found music, sketching, dancing and storytelling riveting ever since I was a child.

I see art as an outlet for one's thoughts and feelings, as it helps develop  mental clarity which leads to overall wellness.

As an art therapist, I use different creative media to bring positive change to a person's life. With more than 10 years of experience using art to help people connect with their higher self, I've learnt that despite our differences we are bound together by the need to belong.

Through sympathy and selflessness, we support the beauty of this connection that leads everyone to see and recognise their self-worth.

I use art to guide individuals in creating better versions of themselves. I also use it to support organisations that champion mental health and ensure their employees’ wellbeing.

Since I am of Indian ancestry, I am multilingual and have high regard for my first language - Tamil, Hindi and other Indian regional languages - which depict home.

Other words that sum up who I am are optimistic, fearless, a movie and music lover, and someone who enjoys watching DIY home renovation shows.

How Does Art Therapy Heal?

Art therapy employs psychotherapy that boosts the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It’s the process of creating images and expressing one’s self on a piece of paper that cultivates the power of healing, not the finished product.

Benefits of Art Therapy:

  • Promotes mental clarity
  • Helps you connect with your emotions
  • Develop self-awareness
  • Enhances your overall wellbeing

How It Works

I leave my clients to choose which art materials to work with. They can opt for crayons, watercolour, acrylic paint, charcoal, gouache, or even natural materials.

Picking their own materials is the beginning of their journey to self exploration. Their artwork, however, is not the focus of our session. It’s the process of creating it that matters as this is where they get to freely liberate their thoughts and feelings.

Reconnecting the Mind and Body

Every individual is gifted with their own innate creativity, but we each have our unique way of expressing ourselves through art.

Sometimes, certain experiences or circumstances in one’s life obstructs their creative channel, hindering them from fully expressing themselves.

I have set up a relaxing environment where you can feel safe and free to explore yourself and your creativity using different artistic tools.

Together, we will work on discovering how to strengthen the connection of your mind and body as this results in your optimal wellbeing.

Book an appointment to discover your higher self and unravel your inner prowess.
