Minds Aligned - Emotion (EFT) and Trauma (TBT) Release
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a gentle, non-invasive technique that is quick to learn, simple to use and integrates well with traditional medicine.
It is based on the theory that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system. Imagine a radio or television signal that is not quite properly tuned and you will have an idea of how the energy system can react to an event that causes an emotional response. And the emotional response may also create physical symptoms.
Classified as energy psychology, it works with the body’s energy meridians and is described as a cross between CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Acupuncture but, instead of needles, it uses the tips of the fingers to lightly tap on various meridian points on the surface of the body.
Whereas acupuncture works primarily on physical ailments, EFT looks specifically at the emotional issues which can, in turn, improve performance and physical issues. It has become more widely recognised and accepted in recent years as it has been scientifically validated as being effective in reducing cortisol (the stress hormone) levels in the body and calming the Amygdala, part of the limbic system in the brain that detects threat and danger.
It can be used for a range of psychological and physical issues including emotional stress, anxiety, physical pain, cravings, trauma, fears and phobias and much more.
I have also recently become accredited with TBT (Trauma Buster Technique) which combines some NLP and EFT and is becoming recognised as one the most rapid and effective ways to release the symptoms of PTS (post traumatic stress). The traumatic event can be great or small, recent or some time in the past and this technique works well on all of these. It could be something that happened, something that someone said or did that you haven't been able to let go of yet. If there is something in your past that is getting in the way and still causing you emotional distress, this is the technique to consider.
