My family has a history of Chinese medicine and so I began learning about Chinese medicine and meditation from a young age. In University, I studied Chinese Medicine full time for 9 years at Anhui Chinese Medicine University and the China Acadamy of Chinese Medical Science in Beijing, where I graduated with a Masters Degree.

Upon completion of my degree, I began working in a hospital as a doctor of both Chinese and western medicine. During this time, I also conducted a group Chinese medicine research project into the improvement of the bodys immune system, for which I received a National Prize. Over the years, I have gained even more experience through working at different Chinese medical practices and treating a variety of complex cases.

I have a holistic approach to Chinese medicine treatment, which includes herbal, acupuncture, meditation, massage, diet, tai chi, body meridian alignment, etc, to improve the patients own self treatment abilities.

I have treated many different patients from all over the world (including countries such as Korea, Japan, China, Australia, America, England, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, etc) using this method, which has yielded incredible results.

Since I was 6 years old, I received training in meditation and Tai Chi, which taught me from an early age to utilise my Chi to improve my bodys healing power. I improved on this knowledge and learned how to apply this treatment to others at university and through further education.

I then worked at many different Chinese medicine clinics and school clinics, furthering my experience and increasing my practical, in-depth understanding of Chinese medicine and natural therapy, especially its ability to treat womens problems, pain relief, anxiety, headaches, stress, etc.

Why do we get arthiritis even in summer?

Recently I have had lots of patients coming to me seeking treatment for arthiritis that is sometimes so severe that they find themselves unable to sleep. Naturally, i found this somewhat surprising as Sydney's hot sweltering summers isn't exactly an excellent breeding ground for arthiritic aches and pains.

However, after further research and consideration I realised that the agonising joint pains these people experienced were due precisely to Sydney's hot summer weather. During summer, our body tries to cool us down by opening pores and producing more sweat. Now this is all fine and dandy until we decide to turn on the air conditioner or go to a windy beach for an afternoon swim. This sudden change in temperature from one extreme to the next causes cold air to penetrate our body (more deeply due to the already opened pores), reaching our joints and causing the aching pains that plague us day after day.

On 2 August, baby Freddie arrived after 2 years of hard work. At 42, a decision to have a baby came late, but I have no idea how challenging it would become. Over a year of increasingly strong fertility treatment proved unsuccessful and like many before me, I was seeking any alternatives that might. I knew nothing about Chinese medicine or acupuncture, having never used it before.

From the first meeting, Dr Brian instilled a calm confidence in his patient. He first listened to my story, my frustrations and then explained how treatment with acupuncture could help relax me and channel the right energies for becoming pregnant. He made it clear that the treatment was not a one night cure and that I should persist with treatment for at least 3 months if possible. So while I continued with IVF treatment, I went to Dr Brian 2 or sometimes 3 times a week.

The acupuncture itself I found for the most part increasingly relaxing and theres no doubt that you can feel quite energized after these sessions. Dr Brian was always very patient, supportive and confident of successful. Almost to the day of 3 months, I was pregnant at last.

I cannot be 100% sure that it was the acupuncture that was solely responsible for making the difference I was trying to get fitter every week and it is also said that IVF treatment sometimes is a matter of time and eventually, pregnancy occurs. But what I can say is that Dr Brians acupuncture and herbs, which I also took did relax me and gave me a new hope and confidence that Id be successful. And I believe that the acupuncture really helped stimulate the uterus to me, Dr Brian played a critical role in the arrival of baby Freddie and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is having difficulty falling pregnant. Facial paralysis

Shoulder injury
I had a car accident 5 years ago and my right shoulder never fully recovered. I tried several massages and went to chiropractors, which helped for the short term. Lung problems / Shortness of breath

At first I thought I had caught a cold, the next day I felt wiped out it was the flu. I saw Brian at 1 pm he did acupuncture& powder herbs for me to take 3 time a day I felt better slightly, after 1 more day in bed, I felt 95% better and although I felt so much better 3 day later, I followed up with a 2nd treatment. Back pain
Anna has been suffering from chronic lower back pain and numbness ever since she was a child. There would be times when it would be so bad that she had to lie in bed for days, suffering from agonizing pain. Anna had previously been to my clinic for another illness, which I successfully treated and so when Anna had another pain attack, she came to me for treatment.

Depression
"I have suffered from high anxiety and bouts of depression for most of my life. I currently take medication for depression, oesophageal reflux (excessive stomach acid) and high blood pressure. Through the best medicines and counselling money can buy, my depression has been in check for several years now, however my anxiety has persisted.

"The symptoms were many: foggy head, tension in the chest, back and shoulder muscle tension, irritability, and a strong nervous twinge in my heart and stomach. The incessant feeling of a monkey on my back was draining and quite frankly depressing. I was determined to eliminate anxiety for both my own health and for the sake of my family who had to put up with my constant grumpiness.

"After a good deal of research on the Internet I decided to give acupuncture a try. I didnt engage in this lightly. As a science graduate I am a very healthy sceptic. I have yet to come across a reasonable explanation of how acupuncture works, but, since no one is quite certain how anti-depressant medications work either, I couldnt discount it. In any case, there seems to be a reasonable number of studies that have demonstrated its efficacy.

"My account here is another example to add to that collection. I have been coming to see Brian for about 4 months now. I started out with 8 treatments over the first two weeks and then reduced that to twice a week. At first I did not notice much change. I was a bit tired and more relaxed, but otherwise unchanged. Brian increased the strength of each treatment as he learned how much I could handle. Then, one weekend after a particularly strong treatment, things changed significantly. I found myself smiling and actually burst into laughter for no reason whatsoever. "Brians treatments normally consist of ten to twenty acupuncture needles in the hands, feet, neck, head and sometimes face for about 30 minutes. They can hurt going in and frequently cause a shooting pain from a nerve or two. Its uncomfortable but not painful during the 30 minutes of rest, but I can often doze off during that time. There is also a bit pain when the needles are taken out. Once out, however there is no further discomfort. Afterwards, there is a great feeling of being both tired and relaxed. For the next day or so there is a great feeling of contentment if not unexplained happiness. Smiling is the most significant side effect! "

"At first the effect only lasted a day or so. Each time it has had a greater and more long-lasting effect. The old two steps forward, one step back story. 3 years insomnia
I have been suffering from insomnia for approximately 3 yrs. It generally took me up to 3 hrs to fall asleep per night. Stress, panic and anxiety
I have suffered from panic, anxiety and stress since I was 19yrs old. I have had many trips to counselors, psychologists, dieticians and doctors for my complaint. I am currently a reflexologist and an acupuncture student and so I felt I should give acupuncture and herbs a try to help me. After my first visit to Brian, I had about 20 needles from my feet and hands to my head and stomach to unblock the channels and help calm the emotions. Shoulder pain
Brian
Just wanted to let you know, the body alignment and massage you just did a couple of days ago was fantastic. Ive had a pain in my right shoulder for over 2 months especially when I slept on that side. But after treatment, it was gone that night and the night after. I would think it will be the same tonight as well. I also felt a sense of well-being and relaxation. Candida and Thrush
I am a 25 year old woman and have had Candida for 6 long years of my life. It manifested itself as thrush. It also had an unbearable effect on my emotions. The thrush was constant for years. Negative/scary thoughts

Migraine and period pain

"After 3 days, there was still no change. The abdominal pain got worse and I was referred to hospital. Coming from a medical background, I have enough knowledge to know that my symptoms were unusual, more likely close to appendicitis, which would mean an operation. I refused to go to hospital and was referred to gastroenterologist. He is one of the best, however my symptoms comes and goes and as during his visit there wasnt any major changes present, he asked me to call me if any extreme pain occurred."

"One month after, my situation changed a bit, but abdominal discomfort and occasional pain was still there. My brother (does acupuncture in SR) asked me to go to see someone and mentioned what my problem could be. I came here and was told that I did not have enough energy and that I had liver stagnation. After 2 days treatment, the change was unreal!!! No pain (after 2 days)! No discomfort at all. Of course I had to change my diet, but still ever since I walked through this door Im only BETTER"
