Discover the benefits of remedial massage and how it can help to balance your body by releasing the stress and tension from a busy life.
I am a registered nurse/midwife with over 30 years experience in the public hospital system.
I am currently practicing as a midwife in a busy private obstetrician’s rooms. Prior to this I was employed in a variety of settings within public hospital system. My most recent employ was in a team midwifery model which supported women from early pregnancy, through to birthing and the early post natal period. My passion is for women to achieve a positive birthing experience through a holistic preparation for birth through education, relaxation and massage.
I attained my Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2013 at Nature care College in Sydney N.S.W. My target clientele is pregnancy, however I do see clients for remedial massage. I competent in all types of massage therapy as indicated in the list of services. I also hold certificates in maternity reflexology and acupressure for midwives. Pregnancy massage is usually performed on the Belly Bag which is a doughnut shaped bean bag with a hole in the middle to support you as your pregnancy advances. Women find this particularly comfortable as this enables them to lie face down and to feel supported. Alternatively side lying massage can also be given depending on client comfort.
Recently I completed training in acupressure for pregnancy, labour and birth and am frequently required to teach this to women and their support people in preparation for birthing.
I also hold a certificate in trigger point therapy.
I am an accredited member of the ATMS. (Australian traditional medicine society) and the Australian college of Midwives.
