Odelia Carmon offers Child Therapy to assist in times of transition in a child's life - divorce, adoption, blended families, new siblings, recent deaths or immigration. Art Therapy and Play Therapy are integrated into the sessions, assisting with trauma and change.
The centre gives children Counselling opportunities involving Play Therapy and Art Therapy. Children’s Therapy is a distinct discipline that differs significantly from that of adult clients. The relationship between children below the age of 17 and the Therapist is co-ordinated by the parent. However, parents are not always part of the therapeutic process itself.
Adolescents aged 17 years and over enter into a personal contract with their Therapist and the level of parental involvement is for the child to determine. The therapeutic approach is tailored to the needs and situation of each child. Consideration is made with regard to the child’s age, developmental stage, intellectual and emotional maturity.
The circumstances in which the daily experiences of the child unfold are given careful consideration. These issues may involve changes to the family unit and/or trauma. Common issues encompassed by Child Therapy include: divorce, adoption, blended families, new siblings, recent deaths or immigration.
