Chiropractic is a natural non-invasive approach to your health care. It is based on the scientifically supported fact that the body actually has the innate ability to heal itself but this ability depends greatly on a healthy spine and nervous system. Spinal adjustments correct subluxations which can typically lead to pain reduction by and minimising nerve interference which otherwise hampers normal communication between the brain and body. Chiropractic is well known for helping people reduce problems like back and neck pain as well as shoulder, arm or leg pain. However, there are numerous reasons for spinal stress which can lead to a wide range of health problems. Read the article published here by our practitioner for further understanding.
Dr Jason Barritt, Chiropractor
Dr. Jason Barritt completed 6 years of undergraduate studies in science at Macquarie University and the University of New South Wales and is published in one of the worlds most prestigious neurological journals for his research on neuroplasticity. His honours thesis was titled Plasticity in the Trigeminal System. The trigeminal nerve is a nerve in the face. Using electron microscopy, he discovered a nerve which helped solve a puzzle that scientists had pondered for years. He was awarded the 1990 university prize for 'Outstanding Merit in Anatomy' and graduated with first class honours. Jason then completed his four-year Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in California.
He practised chiropractic in Penrose, Colorado with his wife, Dr. Judy Barritt, also a chiropractor, for 10 years until returning to Australia to establish practices in Braddon (Jason) and Ainslie (Judy). They have four children. Jason has studied Sacro-Occipital Technique, Activator Method, Diversified Adjusting and Network Spinal Analysis (NSA).
