Emma has been teaching yoga since she graduated in 2006. Having experienced a chronic spinal condition herself, Emma is a testament that yoga and pilates can bring great relief to chronic pain.

How Does Yoga Relieve Chronic Pain?

It’s important to know and understand that some types of yoga are not appropriate for chronic and postural pain, disabilites, injuries, ante and post natal and post cancer and surgery.

A gentle Hatha yoga program designed specific to your current personal needs is preferred for chronic and postural pain and injuries, ante natal and post natal and when recovering from cancer or other surgery.

Because yoga is a mind and body practice, it helps you be mindful in your body. Yoga will help you develop a positive perception towards your own physical limits and pains.

A regular yoga practice will help separate all negative emotions pain has in your life. Yoga helps by changing your perception and making you feel more accepting and positive toward how you’re feeling.

Consistent yoga practice will help improve strength, mobility and flexibility, providing balance in your body, decreasing aches and pains.

Yoga helps decrease your body's stress response which results in reduced inflammation. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced practitioner, you will benefit from yoga.

What type of Yoga Do We Provide?

It’s normal to feel self-conscious or nervous when starting yoga for the first time. Emma provides online yoga therapy programs, specific to your personal needs and goals, post assessment, delivered via an app, which you can do anytime on your own at home or anywhere you’re comfortable.

Also online group classes, with modifications to tailor poses specific to you, are run weekly on zoom, in addition to our in studio small group classes with a friendly community feel.

Classes run for 60 minutes. Prior to attending classes, assessment is required for qualify for health fund rebates.

How to Choose the Right Yoga Instructor For You

Find an instructor who is genuinely interested in your pain levels,  goals and progress. Choose an experienced, knowledgeable well qualified teacher who will guide you through your exercise program, provide modifications based on your level, injuries and restrictions and give you corrective feedback and appropriate progressions. A Physiotherapist with yoga qualifications and/or Yoga Therapist is recommended if you are suffering with pain, injuries, pregnant, post natal or recovering from cancer or other surgery.

What Clients are Saying about End Physio & Pilates Physiomoves:

“What Emma has to offer is unique in a number of ways. She holds a degree in Physiotherapy as well as qualifications in Pilates and Yoga with years of professional experience. The personalised approach that she offers ensures that you have a program tailored to your physiology and personal goals.” - Sarah Baker

“Studiomoves classes are awesome. I get a sore back and neck and found regular Pilates and yoga classes often flared me up. It's great to be able to do my own individual graded program in a small class of 4 with monitoring from Emma. Great way to do it if you have any injuries, and much more affordable than individual sessions! Highly recommended!” - Angela Cutmore
